Sizzle vs Twister

Post by Pomi » Wed Jun 09, 2010 9:52 am

Hi everyone!

I'm getting really curious about green and blue e/s (I usually stick to neutrals/pinks/purples) and I think that Sizzle and Twister look gorgeous!
I don't know if I'll like them on me, or if I'll be able to pull them off, but I think I sould at least give them a shot, right? :D
So, which one is your favourite and why?
I'm 80% sure I'll end up getting both, but if they are really similar I *might* be sensible and only get one.

Thanks!

I find Sizzle easier to wear because the gold shimmer in it softens the bluey-teal colour and makes it more flattering for my yellow-ish skintone. I can't wear straight blues normally but I really love a good teal for a flash of colour. Both are beautiful, but I vote for Sizzle as the gold compliments my skin more.

(I know that Ghost has a pinkish cool toned skin and she absolutely loves Twister for the opposite reason. That might help you choose, going by your own skintones).

Agree with Cupcake.

I have them both and I find myself reaching out for Sizzle a lot more. I am very yellow (but not a dirty fellow ;)) (1 BG: 2 - 4 W depending on my tan) and Sizzle comes across a lot better and more vibrant on my skin. I've had colleagues coming up to me to compliment me on my eyeshadow (Sizzle) before.
Twister looks slightly "off" somehow... not so vibrant and less of an "oomph" effect.

I agree with Cupcake and Aud, I wear Sizzle more. I have both but Sizzle works better with the greens, teals, peach/oranges, golds and purples I tend to wear. I lean towards yellow foundations with a bit of olive in them...

Twister is pretty, but it's a bit cooler than I expected. The shimmers in it are silvery. I have blue/gray/green eyes and Sizzle brings out their sparkle while Twister makes them look more muted gray. That works for certain looks, but normally I prefer my eyes to stand out. I can't wear most cool blues either because they clash with my skin and make my eyes look muddy. So...it all depends on your coloring I think!

Thank you for the replies! :D
I'm rather neutral-toned, with a hinge of yellow, so maybe Sizzle would be better...
I tend to do over-cool colours better than over-warm (probably because I'm very fair), so maybe Twister would work as well?
Anyway, I answered your PM Superwahz, and I think we'll manage to swap samples for both Twister and Sizzle, so I can try them before I make a decision :D

I don't have twister, but IMO sizzle is a really special and unique colour (I have so many, lol, when reading this thread title I was like 'Sizzle! I remember that! How come I don't reach for it more  ) so you definitely won't have wasted a purchase there :)

Yeah Twister all the way baby (I am twisted fan club  )

To be honesty I have both sizzle and twister but I prefer cooler toned colours. I love twister because it's one of the few bluey colours I can wear really well (I have blue eyes) and have it make my eyes pop (and it's gorgoues foiled).

Also note I have just discovered that I'm not a cool toned as I thought. I compared my skin with my younger sister who has blonde hair and blue eyes and me red hair and blue eyes. She has very cool skin tone while mine looks a little creamy (warmer) compared to hers. So I'm properly close to neutral then cool (veins on my arms are more greeny then blue).

But as true enabler pomi I say get both and enjoy both cool and golden toned blues :D
