Thats the only one I didn't request a sample of lol. I think its because of the Niacin in it, then I read about the skin lightening thing...so I thought it wasn't for me. Maybe next time around I'll try it.lilychemgirl wrote:Have you tried super serum? If your skin is sensitive then it might not work for you, but I use it alone on my acne prone but not oily skin (that sort of horrible skin that needs moisturiser but breaks out with everything) and it works really well, and also has cleared my skin up as well as the 2.5% benzoyl peroxide I was using (without the drying effects).
Worth a sample maybe
How moisturizing is the Facelift DMAE serum?

I haven't noticed any skin lightening (I am pretty fair, but freckled, and have been using it for maybe a year). I think you would have to be super religious about using it and also sunscreen to see any lightening effect. In fact, after the summer, my skin is darker than it has ever been (too much gardening without sunscreen!)

Well thats good! The skin lightening thing got me spooked so I might just try it next time. I am really fair myself and I just didn't think I needed any of that, but it seems like one of those thing that can happen with a lot of use.

I went from about 8 steps w/ natural skincare to this:Pinknika wrote:Yeah, I ordered samples of stuff just to test. It sounds like your skin is super picky, kind of like mine. Right now it seems like my skin is reacting to everything that has any kind of emollient factor, and also its super dry right now and I am breaking out like crazy. What is your skincare routine if I may ask?
Cleanser: AM: filtered shower water
PM: Unscented Olay Express Face wipes, couple times a week Philosophy's The Great Mystery...figured out my skin really doesn't like cleansers (tried pretty much everything)
Moisturizer AM: Cetaphil SPF 15 mixed w/ Philosophy's Hope In a Jar
PM: 2.5 BP on Chin and Forehead a few nights a week and Hope in a Jar as needed.
Last few weeks added in Super Serum AM and PM and Facelift Serum around my eyes. I have never been able to use Vit C (first time using MAP, my skin HATES L-Asorbic Acid) or Niacinamide in other brands, but so far so good. Since I stopped using oils/butters I haven't have a single cystic zit on my chin...KNOCK ON WOOD and my skin is starting to produce oil again, but still on the dry side. Also my eczema and rosacea are better.
I felt bad going back to chemicals, but I am over it now.

Maybe thats what I need to do, stop with the oils and butters. My routine right now I think is a little more harsh, I do cleanse regularly and have been using a toner. I like it though because I feel like it takes a lot of the left over residue and it just feels refreshing to me. I guess I just need to do a trial and error type thing. The super serum is the only one I didn't request a sample of but eveyone seems to be raving about it I just might try it.
Yeah I

Actually, in place of toner, you might consider using the Avène Thermal Spring Water instead.
I've been using this for a couple of years. It really works on skin irritations, rashes, chafed skin and helps to soothe them. Recently, one of my pals had an irritated face (red and peeling) from some homemade mask and I recommended that to her to spritz on. It helps her too.
I usually wash my face with Avene's soap-free cleanser, followed by a spritz of the Thermal water, then my SN serums and moisturisers. I even use it to set my makeup.
