How moisturizing is the Facelift DMAE serum?
How moisturizing is the Facelift DMAE serum?
Hi everyone,
I have been eyeing the above product and wanted to know how moisturizing it is. I want to wear this alone only at night and wondering if its okay just to wear it like a moisturizer for night use. I am interested in this product because it seems like all the ingredients won't clog my pores...I have investigated the culprit of my recent horrible breakout and there are some ingredients I just can't have on my skin. Thanks!!

Everything breaks out my skin or causes reactions (eczema, rosacea) and this hasn't. Most night I just use this or super serum or both w/o out any problems and my skin is on the dry side.
Re: How moisturizing is the Facelift DMAE serum?
Thanks, I might try it out. Have you tried any of the other products? Particularly the COQ10 mosturizer with renovage? Or the raspberry mosturizer? Both look good BUT the ingredients...they might be a little too emollient for me.

I have tried them all. In my opinion, the gel formulation is not as emmolient as a formulation with an emulsifier. I would say they are definitely worth a sample.

The gel moisturizers are a dream for people with oily skin. I never used a moisturizer every single day of the world outside of a carrier oil mixed with water-based serum until I tried the Firming Moisturizer.

I started off using the Facelift serum by itself without any moisturiser at night (until I started purchasing SN's moisturisers!).
But I didn't find it moisturising enough and there was also a slight tightening effect.
Then added on raspberry/ jojoba moisturisers. Nothing broke me out (I have combi skin).
Moved onto firming moisturiser.
Onto my 3rd bottle now
I've also started adding Green Tea & Aloe to layer inbetween Facelift and the moisturiser for an added boost. I find that my skin actually secretes less oil that way and I just love how GT&A feels.
So far so good after these months. The occasional hormonal pimple not withstanding.

I tried for a year and a half to use many different oils (and wax...jojoba) and figured out my skin just isn't a fan. Certain ones I can use better than others and Raspberry was way too rich. I have never tried SN so I can't speak for that. The best thing to do is sample and use one product at a time so you can pin point what your skin likes and dislikes. I've used CoQ10/Renovage around my eyes lightly and got milia, so I stopped. The texture of the formula is a dream, my skin is just very picky.Pinknika wrote:Thanks, I might try it out. Thats what I'm afraid of, not being too moisturizing enough...right now I have a really bad breakout but also really really dry skin. That doesn't make sense but its what i've got going on now. Normally, my skin is really oily but now its super dry. Anyways, I ordered samples so I am going to test everything.aud wrote:I started off using the Facelift serum by itself without any moisturiser at night (until I started purchasing SN's moisturisers!).

Yeah, I ordered samples of stuff just to test. It sounds like your skin is super picky, kind of like mine. Right now it seems like my skin is reacting to everything that has any kind of emollient factor, and also its super dry right now and I am breaking out like crazy. What is your skincare routine if I may ask?JenK wrote:I tried for a year and a half to use many different oils (and wax...jojoba) and figured out my skin just isn't a fan. Have you tried super serum? If your skin is sensitive then it might not work for you, but I use it alone on my acne prone but not oily skin (that sort of horrible skin that needs moisturiser but breaks out with everything) and it works really well, and also has cleared my skin up as well as the 2.5% benzoyl peroxide I was using (without the drying effects).
Worth a sample maybe
