Sweetheart swatch request

Post by lilychemgirl » Tue Mar 23, 2010 6:41 am

What is sweetheart like? On the site swatch it looks very mauve, but in swatches i have seen it looks quite different. Anyone have it and be willing to swatch? I have bitten, fig leaf, sweet nothing, very berry, skinny dip morello (I have lots more, but that is all I can remember the colours of well off the top of my head, lol) ... so if you can swatch next to something I have it would be really great.

Also I really like the look of mimosa, but have never worn anything at all like that before... what do you all think, would it look totally weird on me? I'd love to see swatches of that too. *edited to add* how does mimosa compare to precious? I love precious (and that is another one in a colour I would never have thought to try before), so if anyone could swatch them together I would be eternally grateful :) )

Thanks in advance!

Hmmm...don't have Sweetheart, hopefully someone else does and will swatch it!

I have Precious and just got Mimosa last week, so I'll swatch those for you in a bit! I tried on Mimosa yesterday and my initial reaction is that it's just as light as Precious on my lips, but warmer toned. I love it! I think it would look good on you if you like Precious. You seem to like a lot of the lip colors I do, so perhaps our lips are similar pigment wise?

Lily,

I LOVE Mimosa, I never would have tried it (b/c of peach), but got a sample w/ an order. It is everything I was hoping Berry Crush would be (truly awful on me). I don't even notice peach when it is on my lips. Sounds strange but it is a darker version of Gold Blush on me (Berry Crush is NOTHING like Gold Blush on my lips).

Lily, I misunderstood your request on the other thread and posted a pic of Mimosa and Sweetheart. I was thinking you already had Sweetheart and were using that for reference. I can swatch with some of the other colors in the morning. ;) Sweetheart looks mauve like you said in the tube, but when I put it on it looks more a reddish brown. Reddish browns usually look ghastly on me, but Sweetheart works for some reason and Mimosa I love, but I'm not sure you would :? I think if you have more pigmented lips it may be a bit brighter on, but for me it's just a soft peachy pink with shimmer. I have Very Berry and Fig Leaf, so I will swatch with those for reference. Edited to add pics: The sun peeked out for a moment  Image

Here's Mimosa and Precious. I swatched them with Truly (the GWP color on sale day) and Rare Berry (because I'm a bit ditzy and misread "Very Berry" for "Rare Berry" ).

This one is in sunlight from the window, it's such a beautiful day out!

I agree with JenK, its like a bit darker version of Gold Blush, but not much darker...just a bit more peach color. Gold Blush totally disappears on my lips except for the pretty sparkles, this one is more pigmented (as in, it shows up a bit better), but is still one of those colors you could put on without a mirror and not have to worry about checking your lip line, if that makes any sense?
