Thank you for the warm wishes! We have electric, but it is truly truly terrible out there, and it JUST WON'T STOP. We're supposed to get another few inches by noon, and then more totnight. I wanted to take a picture, but pretty much everything is just white, and I can't really even open my front door because the snow is blocking it. It's piled up past my knees.

I'm so not a sissy about the weather (I don't even wear socks most days), but this is about as bad as it gets. We have 4 wheel drive, but that doesn't really stop you from sliding- it just gets you out of your driveway, and it doesn't help at all if someone else goes sliding into you.

Needless to say SN, along with pretty much everything else, is closed today. I'm going to keep the LE eye shadows on the site for another week. Right now there's a pretty big backlog of orders- so if you want to hold off through the weekend you would be doing us a huge favor.

I'll post a contest on the blog in a few hours...just for a little snowed-in fun.

Oh this sound really bad, hope you stay warm and cosy inside!
I was just about to put in another order, but then I can wait a bit more if the LE items are available another week!

A contest how fun yay :D

I'm pretty much in the same boat here. At bedtime last night the roads were pretty clear and there was only a couple of inches on the ground. This morning, a foot of snow on the porch, and the roads are impassable. :? A contest sound like fun though! :D

The snow here on our lawns is still up to my chest. We get a couple inches every day it seems. But it's a fairly mild/wet climate, so it snows frequently and melts really fast = slush and mud for me.

Enough bragging from me.

Enjoy your snowday! Here they're really fun. I get up, no work, bake some cookies, watch a movie. The day after the snowday is the not so fun day.. that's shovel day. But don't think about that now!

And yeah don't leave the house. Here it's pretty much law that you have snow tires and we still slip and slide.

Edit: I forgot my reason for posting! I placed three orders last week (family, friends).. but I still have to wait for .. Paypal.. to clear my echecks, so it'll look like I was very inconsiderate placing a bunch of orders in your busiest week.. but it's just not so. ;)

I'm bummed about the snow day, because it felt like we were finally going to get a good handle on everything, and then we didn't even get the driveway clear until almost 3:00. That snow is the late winter heavy, wet, heart attack sort of snow and it was just brutal trying to shovel it. The sun came out, so the roads are relatively clear tonight, but I don't think a flame thrower could have melted the drifts we had. According to NBC we're "ground zero" for this storm..midway between Binghamton and Syracuse. I believe it. We dodged a lot of bullets this winter, and it finally caught up with us. I still feel really bad for the poor folks in the south- we're used to it up here, and we have the equipment to deal with it...I can't imagine what 3-4 feet of snow does in somewhere like Virginia.

It was good because I think I finally fixed all of everything on the web site! The weights on the sample vs. full size vs. refills should now all be correct. I am a bit behind on some emails because I don't have access to most of our records at home.

All in all I was about as productive as I could be, and spent a good chunk of the day planning, daydreaming, and shoveling- I did watch a couple of cute movies, and read a book too. My mind and body are beat, but in that good "I fought the good fight" kind of way. I truly love working...a bad day at SN beats a good day pretty much anywhere else.

I'm excited for next week!

Hi Karen, hope you're dug out by now. We got about 20" here at our house in Binghamton. Were up on a pretty big hill so we always get more of everything-snow, wind etc. I haven't ventured out of the house since Weds, but it's time to pull on the Uggs & go out today. Hope all goes well at the shop.

Ruby!!!! I was thinking about you last night...NBC was reporting from Binghamton saying what a mess it was. I'm glad to hear that you're okay. We're mostly dug out. It still looks a little sloppy out there, but nothing too terrible at the moment. Stay safe.
