Spot Acne treatment! Please!

Post by buscardelalma » Thu Jan 14, 2010 12:54 am

I would def. buy a spot acne treatment form SN. :) Everything else form the skin care line seems to be working for me. Besides, who doesn't get an occasional zit form time to time? Everyone does. I would also love to see Karen work on something for the veins around the nose, they bother me a lot when I look at them

This would be nice. Preferably in a gel form instead of powder. :D

I would like a concealer powder (preferably white, so we can tint to match our foundation) with salicylic acid and maybe sulfur and anything else you think would work for blemish fighting. There is a company called Ella Rose Minerals that makes something like that, but only in 3 colours I think and I haven't tried it.

I definitely wouldn't mind a spot treatment I could wear under my makeup through the day,a concealer/spot treatment in one...

I also really like sulfur's drying effects on pimples. So that would be my pick of active ingredient.

wondering if anyone has ever tried burt's beed "doctor burt's herbal blemish stick." it's not really a stick but a liquid that comes in a small roller bottle. i've been using this on zits that have been popping up, and it really works well. overnight i see a huge improvement. here's the ingredients:
SD alcohol 40-B (from yellow corn), calendula extract, borage extract, yarrow extract, parsley extract, willowbark extract, lemon oil, fennel oil, water, tea tree oil, juniper oil, eucalyptus oil.
seems like something that karen could dupe pretty easily?

Burt's Bees Herbal Blemish Stick

I occasionally use Burt's Bees Herbal Blemish Stick (MSRP US$8.50). I sometimes mix it with mineral makeup powder foundation to create my own spot concealer. Its smell is very strong and herbal, which I don't mind but my SO hates. If you can't tolerate tea tree oil, this product is not for you.

Yeah, I wouldn't use the roller ball directly on my skin though. After a while I noticed dead skin cells floating around in the burt's bees blemish stick, and I exfoliate before using it!

Oh, I'd love something like this. Sulfur works great on blemishes for me, and it would be good to have a concealer (whether it is creamy or powder) that fights blemishes, that way it can be used to conceal blemishes during the day and worn like regular makeup.

Yeah definitely, and if it could be kind of heavy coverage (maybe slightly heavier than heavy foundation) that would be totally awesome for concealing :)

Having tried the Ella Rose Minerals version, I have to echo the request for a white version we could tint to match our foundation. The lightest Ella Rose shade is not light enough for me and it has a yellowish almost orange-ish cast to it.
