Can anyone recommend me a few lippies? :)

Post by meheeeen » Sat Feb 13, 2010 4:18 pm

I need a couple good lippies! Anything from nude to classy to outrageous is fine by me.

This is me with nothing on. Maybe a year old pic but my skin tone hasn't changed. (My face has pinkness so I match to my yellower and slightly paler neck btw, and I find it looks much nicer that way.)

I have Berry Crush in my wishlist right now because it looks so pretty, but I dunno if it'll look good on me. Thanks ladies!

Simmer, Goldblush, Fig Leaf, Breathless, maybe Jaybird...I could go on and on as I really like lippies. But I think the ones I listed would look really pretty on you :D

Mimosa - a real pretty peachy color with shimmer, I think it looks similar to the color of your natural lips, but a tad more peachy and with shimmer.

Birthday Suit or Centerfold - I have never tried Birthday Suit, but it is supposed to be a great nude lip. Centerfold would also make a great nude lip for you, it is lighter than Birthday Suit, so it just depends on whether you are looking for lighter or darker. Both have brown tones and have no shimmer.

Temptation - really pretty coral, for fun bright looks.

I second Gold Blush, a really sheer wash of gold shimmer, very subtle, great for everyday. If you want more of a pinky gold, try Precious instead. They are both very similar, but Precious has some pink to it.

I also think Raindrops on Roses would look great on you, its a lovely rosy red with shimmer.

I think between all of those you will get some good variety.

Hope that helps!

Berry Crush looks good on almost everyone - I think it'd be pretty on you. And if you wanted a red - Sultry! With your colouring, I bet it would be gorgeous.

I think sweet nothing or jaybird would be good your lips but better colours on you, and for something more intense maybe raisin? I don't have heaps of lippies like some of the ladies here, so can't make lots and lots of recommendations. I swatched my lippies in a recent thread, and raisin and sweet nothing are there. I think nectar might work for you too.

I can see Fashionista on you, as well as Raisin as Lilly said, and maybe Hot Blooded or Sultry for some dark reds.
Gold blush, definitely, and Darling too: warm and a bit sparkly, but not too intense.

Is Raisin similar to Clinique's different lipstick in A Different Grape? I have that and the swatch looks similar. (it's my favorite dark color though)

And thanks for the recs :) I have every single one in my wishlist now lol...

I think Raisin is a little browner. It has been years since I have seen A Different Grape, though. I think ADG has a little more of a plum tone, too.
