Re: all purpose shimmer
jien - Thanks for the side by side comparison! Duly noted on my wishlist!
Re: all purpose shimmer
This is a great thread!
I have "spumante" and can't figure out how I'd use it on my face without looking like a five-year-old fairy princess sneezed at me, but it is nice for lightening other products and as an eye color. The sparkle is chunkier than anything I've seen on the SN site.
I never tried "damp silica" but Angel glow looks like a less chunky-glitter version.
However, I do have another color from the same category as "damp silica" - "uncreatively named cool-toned pale color," which had been one of my HGs, and also had the honor of being the ONLY full size blush color from the Company-That-Must-Not-Be-Named that I used more than half of. I bought a sample of SN's Cherub to see how they compared, and they are the same color, but the other company's product is more opaque and has a white base visible in swatches and when foiling it, while Cherub is more finely milled and sheerer.
I think that adding (more?) titanium dioxide to any of the glows would approximate many of the Company-That-Must-Not-Be-Named's multi-purpose shimmer products.

Okay, I am very lucky I wasn't sipping my drink at the moment I read that because I would have sprayed it all over my computer! LOL!Emily wrote:This is a great thread!

I'm getting a bit lost here ROFL. I know what's "Spumante" and "Damp Silica" cos they're my favourites, but I have no idea what this uncreatively named colour is! I even went to the company's page to check out their Face section but nothing in particular jumps out at me.Emily wrote:However, I do have another color from the same category as "damp silica" - "uncreatively named cool-toned pale color," which had been one of my HGs, and also had the honor of being the ONLY full size blush color from the Company-That-Must-Not-Be-Named that I used more than half of.
Who says a chick can't love make up and World of Warcraft at the same time?

The color name is the most descriptive one in the whole category. It's marketed as an all-over face color AND redness reducer, and it's one of the lightest things they make. Used to be marketed as a blush, though it's light enough that it probably wouldn't even work on a ghost. It's also currently the last color in the category it's in.kookith wrote:I'm getting a bit lost here ROFL. I'm a-guess that's code for some kind of pink powder.
You guys are nuts - in a good way. But nuts
And if you go on a treasure hunt through the eye shadows and the glows and the blushes and the perfecting powders and perfecting glows here - betcha by golly you'll find LOTS AND LOTS of pink powders

I know
+
is really popular. Cream e/s is really close. It might look a bit dark compared side by side, but when blended I can't tell which is which.
