Thank you for your quick answer!
Warm gold you say? I am a bit surprised cause I think it looks so yellow, yellow often looks strange on me, but I will defenetly try it out even thought I don´t see myself in your description of warm gold: "This is the foundation to order if you have warm golden undertones- it's made for Olive skin,Native Americans, Hispanic- and some British and Irish women who tan easily"
I have typically scandinavian skin and scandinavian blond hair, tan but not supereyasy...
I´m wondering if maybe the evening-sunlight made me more golden than I really am, but as I said I will try it!
If I should try another colour aswell would it be ebony?
For a finishing powder, do You think untinted blur is the best one to start out with!
Sandy, Danny and Flirt looks very sweet!

It really is best to order the sample kit that includes a few of the color bases. Warm Gold is more peachy and kind of yellow. Ebony might work, too. Or even a blend of Ebony and Warm Gold.carro wrote:Thank you for your quick answer!

Re: Need Foundation Help? Please post here.......
Hi!
I've heard so much good about Silk naturals that I long to try it out, but I do need some foundation advice (like everyone else?). So I'll try to describe my skin and ad a couple of pics.
I'm pale, really pale, but I do think my undertone is warm. Usually I'm described as an "autumn" and that's the kind of colors I look best in. The veins on my arms are both green and blue. When I stand next to one of my sisters, I can see that she's really pink and I'm really yellow, but when I stand next to my other sister, she's really yellow I and just look like I have no color at all.
I burn easily and never get tanned. Right now I use EDM's fairy light neutral and it looks quite good on me, but maybe just a little, little grey/in lack of color.
I would also like some advice on concealer and blush. The dark circles under my eyes are more purple than blue so I'm thinking Sleep in a Jar- Extra Light Peach? And blush maybe Petal or Climax? I'm looking for the porcelain doll look whit rosy pink cheeks.
Thanks
/Mathilda

Sierra:
If the combos already recommended do not do it for you, go ahead and order the Deep Ebony. My hair is a dark blonde (looks a bit darker in the pic), eyes dark brown, and among my original samples from EM which I'd used a few times I also had the Medium Beige Neutral, but during the summer I was exposed to the sun a lot so it became a tad light on me. I also had the Light Tan (next darker one) but I probably forgot to try it by itself (I think I'd mixed it with Medium Summer, a cool) so I embarked on a new search.
I didn't have any recent pictures and in the ones I put up at the EM forum I looked either more pink or gold than in real life. Since warm or gold colors are usually recommended for Hispanics, that's what people suggested and since there wasn't anything darker in the Beige I eventually got a sample of Sandy Medium (semi-matte) and it came pretty close (BUT I think it looked better because I was wearing red that day...). As almost anyone knows by now, with MMU there's a certain margin of error where one can get away very often with using a couple of different bases, especially in the lighter coverage, and it's no big deal (but on heavier coverage that margin is narrower I think).
When I decided to try SN, like everyone else I ordered the Perfect Harmony kit plus some Heavy ivory and started out with WG feeling "pretty sure" that would be "it" so I was very surprised when it wasn't. I then made a little batch with Ebony but it was wrong too, I tried adding some WG but that didn't work. I started another batch and added BG instead but, frankly, they all seemed kind of green (so the olive was out for me!). At that point since I was still thinking "warm" I went ahead and ordered the Peach (and because of a website error I ended up ordering 2 samples of that...). But Peach turned out too orangey so then I was at a loss. I got up to a 6th batch and it was still off. At that point, just so I wouldn't completely waste the materials invested, I added Olive and/or ultramarine blue pigment to most of them but that didn't quite do it either. I felt a little "coolness" was lacking.
Well, early this week I was getting ready to order samples from another company when I realized the only shades I would try would be 2 in the neutral tone
. While looking at their blushes I decided to go back to SN to compare colors and I think that's when I took a 2nd look at the Deep Ebony and the description said "neutral"
so right then I decided to place my 3rd order (and postponed ordering from the other company). Thankfully, it arrived pretty fast and as soon as I got a chance I mixed up a new small batch. At first it didn't look right but after comparing it to all my other batches I realized I'd just made it a little too dark but once I corrected that VOILA! That was IT! Everything looked right again! In fact, I was still a bit puffy from sleeping too much but all it took was a bit of blush, eye brow powder and mascara to make me look fine (but later I added green eyeliner...). Now I'm HAPPY knowing my search for foundation has ended at last!
Btw, here are the amounts I used: 3 Heavy + 1 Glow:1 DE.

Ms. Raquel has great suggestions with Deep Ebony. Just so you know, Ebony and Deep Ebony are the same color...only Deep Ebony is twice as dark......

Re: Need Foundation Help? Please post here.......
I don't know, when I made the first batch with Ebony it looked... different, a little pinker, and doesn't the description say it's the "cool" base?
I mixed that one during the day while sitting near a window but the DE I made at night, maybe that's why the seemed different. Or maybe it is that since we've had cold weather down here my coloring seems less strong... I guess I'll just make a new batch with it to convince myself, lol!

Re: Need Foundation Help? Please post here.......
I think Warm Gold is a good place to start, but it is still a good idea to get the starter sample kit. My guess is 1 scoop Warm Gold:12-14Ivory. Buttery Gold might work out better since you mentioned yellow. Extra Light Peach should be good, as well as Climax and Petal.matildatiger wrote:Hi!

Re: Need Foundation Help? Please post here.......
It is possible that Ebony looks a little pinker when lightened to a point......when the color bases are diluted with white, there are certain colors that dilute less quickly than others. Red is probably the strongest tone and the slowest to dilute, which translates to pink.MsRaquel wrote:I don't know, when I made the first batch with Ebony it looked... different, a little pinker, and doesn't the description say it's the "cool" base?I mixed that one during the day while sitting near a window but the DE I made at night, maybe that's why the seemed different. Re: Need Foundation Help? Please post here.......
What finish are you wanting? It might make sense to get the Perfect Harmony sample kit (includes Ebony, Warm Gold,Buttery Gold, and Olive) plus Peach, plus an additional White (because you are so fair).matildatiger wrote:Thanks for your help, I thought you would say Warm Gold. But if I get the starter sample kit (Sample 5 Deep Base Colors *Only*) I'll get all the colors except peach, why is that? Is it unusual to need Peach.
The complete list of color bases that might work (if you want it all in one order) are Warm Gold, Buttery Gold, and Peach, with Ebony to tone them down in the cooler direction. The 'Golds' have a bit of golden that is absent in Peach. The only other thing that might fit is Yellow Booster....when the foundations get so fair, we sometimes need to add in a little more yellow. I really think you can skip the Yellow Booster for now.
