Cocoa butter is a really hard butter - even when it's whipped it kind of has to melt a little to spread on your skin. But I agree, it's terrific. And I just ran out - ouch!

Try omega-3 supplements and drinking more water - I prefer Smart Water or Gatorade. B vitamins, and vitamin D are also good.

Using conditioner instead of shaving cream leaves your legs less dry!

Zeebs ~ I never thought of vitamns...I guess I will have to start taking those supplements again  I am terrible abouth remember to take them.

Sewwies ~ I have heard of the conditioner instead of shaving cream, although I have not tried it. Sounds like a good idea though. :)

Does anyone know if adding Emu Oil to say a bottle of everyday skin lotion would still be beneficial? and if so how much would I put in to notice it?

Thanks!

Susan :)

I can't answer about adding the emuy oil to the lotion, but if you put the lotion on top of the emu oil , it will help with moisture retention. Another trick you might try is to run a humidifier in your home, I keep mine in the bedroom, and use almost year round. Eastern Colorado isn't the kindest climate for skin, as it is pretty dry here year round, and dessert hot in the summer. In the winter it tends to be dry and cold, and windy. So the additional moisture in the bedroom, in combination with the moisturizers, etc. really helps my skin.

I really should invest in a good humidifier. We had one of those little ones you put water in, like maybe a half gallon, but I got lazy and quit using it. :(

tizzylou - I live north of Denver and I TOTALLY agree with you! I was using the firming moisturizer but had to switch to intensive recently. I should really use a humidifier in my house, too.

I don't think I would add emu oil to a bottle of everyday skin lotion. I either apply the lotion first then emu oil. Or sometimes I just pump emu oil and lotion in my hand and mix and apply.

LT ~ That is a good idea, just putting both in your hand, mix and apply. Thanks!!!

I ordered some Emu Oil, so hopefully I will get that soon and I found some great lotion at the Dollar store. Usually lotions from there aren't the best, but this stuff is great!!! It is made by a company called Fruit of the Earth and it is the Skin Repair Shea Butter & Aloe Vera. It comes in a 16oz bottle and was it was $1.50 and it seems to be working pretty well. There were 4 bottles left...I think I may have to go buy them. It is working better than some of the more expesnive lotions I have purchased. Hopefully in combination with the Emu Oil my skin will be happy again :D

Thanks ladies for all the great advice!
