I have been using MMU for over 5 - 6 years and have never had this issue before. TIA for and tips to help. :)
I am not sure vegan will be right for you, either. I am thinking it is also possible you might have issue with the silica. If I were in your place I would try to address the dryness (which will be good for whatever brand foundation you settle on). Can you share what kind of skincare you are using?

Jen I use Emu oil, shea butter ( only in winter) and another cream that is called Tawaka. I have normal to maybe a pinch dry skin only in the winter but the oil takes care of that. And in the summer I use a light dusting of silica for my T zone that can be oily on a hot summer day. I have used a facial spray too but I stayed dry looking. Oh do you know what is the % of silica used? THKS again !!

I see lots of oil based things but very little in the water based things, other than the small amount of water in the Tawaka. In order to add moisture, you really need something wet like a serum (since the facial spray was a no go for you)...and then the oils are used to seal the moisture in. Can I ask what facial spray you tried?

I don't know the % silica but it can't be a huge percentage. But some find it a little drying, for winter especially.

Before I give up on finding a match completely, I figured I'd ask for some advice. I am currently using EDM's fawn and golden light - fawn was too yellow on it's own and golden light too peach - together they are PERFECT! I've ordered 2 sample kits from SN and so far cannot come up with a match that is even close. No matter what I mix up it doesn't seem to be "bright" enough - if that makes sense. It's always too brown, too yellow, too pink. I really do not want to keep ordering from EDM for various reasons, and I love some of the other products I've ordered from SN in the past, so I'd love to be able to find a match in SN's foundation. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Water, green tea and a little glycerin. Jen I also drink lots of water and my skin care goes over a very wet face. ( locking in some of the water with the oils & butters) I have used BE and EDM without issues. But if silica can do that then this maybe the issue. Darn !! Well maybe I will Try my SN foundation in the summer and I bet I will not need to add any silica to my Tzone.

4wheel-
Definitley give it a try again in the summer. Also, you might want to consider a serum, especailly for winter. I know I can't wear mineral makeup without them in the winter. (I am knocking on the door of 40 and getting drier by the year.)

chaye: thanks for your suggestion! I tried adding a little yellow colour booster into my buttery gold mix, but it turned out too yellow..maybe i added too much? or maybe i'm not as yellow as I think i am

Jen: warm gold seems to be a closer match! I don't know if it's just me though, but my face still seems a little different coloured from my neck. here are pictures with 1 warm gold: 13 original ivory on my face, and a little past the jawline. lower part of my neck is bare-skinned.

Sorry the ones in natural light are a bit shadowy.. Is the match ok? I can't really tell myself..

um...in my last post, I said that my warm gold mix seems to match better than my buttery gold mix. However, I just mixed up a batch of 1 warm gold: 11 medium ivory (which works out to be about the same shade as 1 warm gold: 13 original ivory), and the heavier coverage made me realise that my face looked pink compared to my neck! (is there some pink in warm gold?)

I don't know if the pictures I posted show this though. Should I add yellow colour booster into my warm gold mix?(how much though? I think just a little will make quite alot of difference right?) or try buttery gold + yellow colour booster again? I think I thought warm gold was a better match simply because it looked less dull/brown.

TIA for the help!

Jen/Karen, I had one more question: are any of the coverage levels better/worse for your skin than others? A lot of girls are saying that using the original foundation religiously is actually making their skin healthier. I am very interested in this! - but would probably need the medium formula mixed with some glow. Are they essentially the same? Will my skin have breathing issues or anything? (Yeah, I'm kinda obsessive when it comes to this stuff.) :)
