I was thinking about the Natural Reflections from EDM and wondered if there was a way to create one from SN stuff, or if SN had something close.
I thought maybe mixing the Zinc powder with some color booster or maybe straight buttery gold might work.
What about mixing up a foundation shade with the Zinc powder instead of the ivory? I think that sounds like it could be nice.
Has anybody tried anything like this?
Sheer Zinc & Natural Reflections
Re: Sheer Zinc & Natural Reflections
I have tinted my Ultra Sheer Zinc.......Color base works great. You need to keep in mind that the Ultra Sheer Zinc is very sheer....it will take quite a bit of color base for the color to show up when looking at the powder in a pot. And you don't want to add so much color base that you end up with something too dark.

I cut mine with Date Bait, and use it instead of foundation some days.

Yeah, I'm looking for something sheer that I can wear some days. I don't always want/need the weight of foundation. Just something that will make me not shiny after I moisturize.

This exactly how I thought of the NR Fair, as far as duping it with SN products. Date Bait reminds me of EDM's Natural blush in the jar, but applies much more evenly and sheerly for me.

Re: Sheer Zinc & Natural Reflections
ok, so I have a weird comment then....
I also wanted my sheer zinc tinted, but not actually the same colour as my foundation, just a bit of something to it. So I added a bit of the colour base (WG). then I was noticing my foundation was starting look blotchy by sort of mid morning. I think part of the culprit is that, even though I leave plenty of time between toner, serum, lotion, & holy crow, I think something is still moist on my face and the powder was sticking only there (I think this is mainly to do with the extremely humid climate where I am, so things take forever to dry....)
but then, since I was getting frustrated by this blotchyness, especially since it wasn’t happening a week before...I paid more attention to my routine...and I started to notice that when I was applying the zinc with the tint to it, I'd just swirl it a bit in my swirly bowl, to get the product on the brush, and suddenly the powder in the swirly bowl became seperated, so part of it was the base sectioned together, and the other was the zinc sectioned together....
so bascially I noticed dark aread where apparently the base was applied all on its own, and not at all diluted...and when this bit stuck to my still moist-ish face, it made a large dark blotch that really showed up on my face once all my foundation melded together...
So does adding date bait (or how about even something like the Tahiti Sweetie or Bronzed Beauty) work better or is it possible this separation will happen again?
It’s not a major issue, I can easily apply the zinc and some bronzer on top that that really solves this problem…but I was just wondering as it would take a step out of my low makeup days…

Can I mix the zinc into my regular foundation or will it change the color?
Re: Sheer Zinc & Natural Reflections
It may lighten your foundation a bit, as the zinc is untinted - so you'll probably have to play a bit to get it back to the colour you want.
