So many lip options of goodness perplex me.

Post by lambchop » Mon Dec 07, 2009 8:00 pm

There are so many lovely lip color options. I have Rare Berry and just received Hot Blooded today - both are wonderfulforahappysmile colors on me. My wishlist includes Foreplay, Precious, and Tender. It may soon include a multitude of others. I'm pondering Swank and/or Black Dahlia. Any thoughts? I'm a pale, warm gal with yellow undertones with sometimes overly pink cheeks. I look best in warms and purples are not friendly on my lips.

TIA :).

I like Black Dahlia, even though usually I can't pull off plummy colors - my gf is now the proud owner of Sweet Nothing. The description says it's a "very deep brownish plum shimmer", so there is enough warm in it for you to make it work.

Swank could be worn alone, but it's more like a layering color, just depends what you're looking for. You could buy another plum that you perhaps like more than Black Dahlia and get Swank to build a similar effect. I have both, but then again, I'm a crazy collector, and like pondering 30 mins each morning trying to pick out what I'm gonna grace my lips with. ;)

i've been wearing tender alot recently. it's an awesome, easy sheer beautiful color. i love precious too when you need a sheer but a pop of gold. i know that the gal who requested the dupe likes it for brides for their wedding day...and it really is that kind of color. absolutely gorgeous but in a natural way, not "look i have lip color on"...

Oh, I hope I didn't confuse you, that description I added was re Black Dahlia. Sweet Nothing is a sheer plum. Because I have pigmented lips, sheers always look a bit too dark on me, and that one ended up making me look like a cast member of Reality Bites.

I just got Black Dahlia and I love it! I posted a picture wearing it in the foundation color help thread to get Jen's advice on my foundation mix I made. I have rather pale pink lips, so that might give you and idea on how someone with pale lips looks in it. My foundation is a mix of ivory and Warm gold with some yellow in it if that helps.

Diana,

Thanks. Black Dahlia looks nice on you but I'm afraid it carries a bit much purple for me. :)
