Good luck, Jen! I think it will work in your favor that you are well endowed- I am not, and had a mammogram a few years back- they practically had to shove my entire body into the machine just to get my tiny little chest in there.

Re: I may not get to answering many posts today.....
good luck!
i was nervous as well, but it was not nearly as bad as i thought it was going to be. but, i've nursed two babies, and compared to a few bites, a machine doesnt seem so intimidating!

Re: I may not get to answering many posts today.....
Hope everything goes well, Jen...and that you feel better soon. *Hugs!*
Re: I may not get to answering many posts today.....
I made it through. I am planning to take it easy this evening. DH is out of town on business and I still have to heard the kiddos, but I am going to turn in early. Thank you all for the well wishes and good thoughts. I should know the results in about a week. I feel that going in thinking it was going to be horrible almost helped. It was not nearly as bad as I envisioned....but I am achey, now. However, if it catches something early enough to save my life, it is all worth it is the end. Luckily, there are no directly related females in my family with breast cancer history. We can't afford to be careless with our health, though.
I am just going to say.....If you are of age to get a mammogram, please do it for all those that love you, and for us, your friends. Please, don't put it off.
Good night!

Glad it wasn't as horrible as you thought it'd be, Jen. Take it easy tonight! And yes, ladies, your health should be priority numero uno--keep up with all your necessary examsJenW wrote:I made it through. I am planning to take it easy this evening. I'm glad to read that things went smoothly for you. Those things are not fun, from my understanding.

Jen, I'm glad that you did ok afterward. I'm going in for mine on Monday and I dread it every December, but I know it's one of the most important screenings that a woman can get. One of the nice "perks" in my area is that the hospital gives you a little card to take to a local jeweler for a free pearl. If it's your first mammogram they give you a chain too and each year you add to your necklace. This will be my 4th pearl.
Re: I may not get to answering many posts today.....
That is a cool thing your hospital does! It was not terrible, but it ranks up there with going to the dentist for me. Yuck. I will still be a good girl and do it, though, as long as I can go shopping afterward......the yarn shop was closed so I had to go take a look at a makeup outlet. I figure I had it coming to me as often as Karen gets to visit all the cool makeup counters.rubycat95 wrote:Jen, I'm glad that you did ok afterward. Yeah it's pretty neat and a nice incentive for those who are apprehensive. I actually think it's worse than the dentist or the gynecologist, but that's just me! Glad you rewarded yourself w/a little shopping afterward too, you deserved that! I haven't been to NYC in a while, but those high-end stores' makeup counters are quite a sight!JenW wrote:That is a cool thing your hospital does! I think it's really nice/good of them to do that too!lambchop wrote:Jen,
