Everyday Minerals

Post by khasart1 » Sat Dec 05, 2009 2:24 am

Hello Ladies,

I am slowly converting to eco friendly cosmetics and have tried many brands. Most of them were too expensive for me. I love Silk Naturals and am wondering why all the refugees from Everyday Minerals? I have never used their products but I get the feeling they are not in the same league as Karen and her wonderful products. Can anyone shed some light on this subject for me?

I'm going to point you over to the Chanty forum....I think quite a few girls from the now defunct EDM forum landed over there. I have a feeling they'll be able to catch you up on the drama.

No problem at all! It's a perfectly legitimate question ...it's just a lot of weird juju.

Thanks for being so diplomatic about it, Karen. :)

I'm not going to comment about the drama, but my personal opinion of EDM's products (and this is just my opinion) is that they are an amazing deal* - *for the price! - But SN is noticeably higher quality and you get what you pay for.

I should rephrase that; if you're a Bare Minerals fan, they have a lot of great dupes (like paraben free Mineral Veil) and offer (I'm not exaggerating) twice as much product for about a quarter the cost of BE's starter kits. You can't argue with their free samples. 3 to 4 FULL 5-gram jars for a penny plus shipping for GOOD product. That's insane!

So when I came here originally looking at the prices and product sizes on SN's site, I balked a little bit...but all of the other girls at Chanty's were raving about it, so I decided to give it a try. I cannot even describe the difference in quality, because you would think: "Wow, what could be better than an indie company matching a high end brand like Bare Escentuals for so cheap," right? But it doesn't even compare to SN. And the customer service here is amazing! I am sticking with SN from here on out. :D

I don't know if you came over to Chanty's forum yet, but I just wanted to say that even though we are mostly former everyday minerals ladies there we welcome anyone with a love of makeup. Definitely come check it out we have a good time talking about a lot of things over there. There are especially some nice sn threads going on.

I just have to pipe in and say I was an EDM addict. I loved the products but then when all of the negative went down I started trying other company's like SN and was amazed at how much better they are! I still have some faves from EDM that I may or may not purchase again depending on how I feel about them down the road, but one of the problems I found is all of their eye colors are similar and not complex. And they are all mixes of each other in one way shape or form. Right now I am simply amazed at all of the complex and different colors both at SN and other mineral makeup colors that are lacking at EDM.

Also definitely sign up on Chanty's forum. We talk about every makeup company and have a good time over there!

I just wanted to add that the Chanty forum is another great place to talk about minerals and other stuff. Great threads on other mmu companies. I did purchase from EDM in the fall of 2006 (twice). Besides SN there is lots of better alternatives to EDM.

I wanted to say that I believe EDM was the first online mineral makeup company that I tried, but they broke me out, so I moved on and tried other things.

I'm very happy with the SN stuff I've tried :>
I even made a blending tutorial today and put it up on my youtube with Idolize, Lurid and Boom.
