Hi all,
I have lurked around this board for about a year now, and have felt very guilty about not joining in... First off I have to say congrats to all of you and you are truly an inspiration :D I decided that I would join in the conversation since I now absolutely have to lose weight due to health problems.... I am 31 and ended up with a blood clot in my leg that the broke off and went into both of my lungs or what is known as pulmonary embolism... I am extremely overweight and have been ever since I was a child. But I know that I need to take better care of myself and I have to put this first in my life now...I love to read about everyone's different ideas and recipes... I would like to hear about more ideas about recipes as well as different ways to work out. I have been to a curves but I find it really hard to motivate myself to go somewhere after work ( I am a substitute teacher) I like to do workout videos and any suggestions would be great! I think that I just wanted to join and know that I will get the support that I need here to keep me going. As of right now I am size 28 in the USA and pretty close to 300 lbs at 5'5". :o So I have quite a bit of weight to lose, but I know that I have to start and it is no longer a choice why not now right ;) So hi to all and a quick thank you all for just being you and being here and willing to share yourself!

Hi fairyfli,
Thank you for opening up to us. We are here whenever you need a word of encouragement. I know it is hard, but it will get better. Small changes over time make a big difference. I know I have been struggling, myself. I went to the Dr. this week and my BP is high. Nothing super serious, but serious enough to be a wakeup call. I get all gung ho to eat right and exercise, and then burn out about three weeks later...every time. This time, I am going in baby steps to avoid the burnout. You just have to figure out what will work for you, because we are all different in this type of struggle. Just don't give up and have patience with yourself. Hang in there. Feel free to PM me anytime.

Hiya ladies

I got weighed today at my rosemary conley class (it should be every week to weigh in but she was on holiday last week) and in two weeks I've lost 11lb, 5kg. woooooooohooooooooooooooooooooo.

That's a big loss for me in a long time

On the rosemary conley diet plan for the first two week you're on 1200 calories a day and I'll tell ya food never tasted so good when you don't have much. Now after two weeks I'm on 2000 calories a day and I'm allotted 100 for treat (sweets, fruit, etc), 100 for dessert and 100 for alcohol. But I'm not much for alcohol (never been drunk in my life) so I can bank them for something else. Kind of like SN point system :D

I'm coming up on the big two year next wed so hopefully I'll have another loss :D

Fairyfli: you are amazing for posting you weight, well done girl :D I can tell you that when I started two year ago I was more than 300lbs and now I'm almost 99lbs lost. Keep it up and I’ll be sending you good dieting vibes from the UK

Congrats!!! That is a big loss...especially after that long- those plateaus can creep up quickly, and it amazes me that you never really seem to lose motivation.

Fairyfli...you're on the right track! Blood clots are no joke- it's fantastic that you've made the decision. You're very brave, and I know it's going to be hard, but you can do it! We're here for you!

Hi all

I got weighed today at rosemary conley and in a week I've lost 2lbs yay :D :D

Okay last week was my two year anniversary of dieting and in two years, between the ups and down I've lost 43kg which is 6 stone & 10lb. The rosemary conley club is really helping and I've got some delicious recipes from the roseconley book - now if I just cook some of them, it should be better then just looking at them and drooling :D .

Happy Anniversary!!! Do you realize you've lost the equivalent of my SIL? One Emma *poof*. Two pounds is quite a bit for a week- especially this time of year when everything is extra yummy. You're Super Woman!

I just have to keep coming back here and look at your marching towards your goal to get inspired again.
I gained back some pesky pounds during my long trip back in September, and I have been battling (ok, wasn't fighting too hard) to get rid of them again. Sometime I just feel like this is where I'm supposed to be, but then I remember I had this feeling before, and I could get past it. I'm familiar with all the methods that worked for me, but it seems like I need a bigger kick start. The good news is that my methods also helped my girlfriend, who's been trying to lose weight for years. So yay!

I've been maintaining since then, and with the holiday and travels ahead of me, I won't even want to stress too much on trying to lose some weight. However, whining is to be over as new years day, and I'm hoping to report back shortly that I'm doing better :)
