Need help with some lipgloss colors...

Post by ErinL » Sat Nov 28, 2009 11:13 am

I have $50 worth of lipgloss in my cart at the moment, and can't really afford that right now. (Besides, I want to get some blushes and apricot cleansing oil too!!) I don't actually want to get rid of any of these...(I want'em allllll!!!!) but don't want to get near-duplicates.
So I was wondering if anyone can help me trim things down a little bit? For reference I'm a red-head with white-white skin (I wear 20 ivory:1 warm gold for foundation).

This is what I have in my cart:
-Aria
-Tender
-Gold Blush
-Foreplay
-Fashionista
-Darling
-Whirlwind
-Polished Pink
-Ingenue
-Cultured

I have a sample of Ingenue and love it! I also have Berry Nice, Breathless, Pout, and Soft already.
I am looking for shades that are slightly darker/brighter than my lips, but nothing too daring. ;)

Thanks!

I only own Bloom and Cultured so I can't speak to the others. But you Need Cultured so please leave that where it is, haha.

I'm white-white with dirty blonde hair and very neutral skin (of what color there is, haha) and I have worn Cultured pretty much 4 days out of the week for 3 weeks. I'm a big fan :)

erin,
i know you don't want to hear this but...i don't think any of the colors in your cart are too similar...ahhhhh! i know it's hard to choose!
if i were to cut something out though...
aria, tender, and gold blush are all quite sheer. you did say you wanted lippies that darkened or brightened your lips, and i don't think any of these shades will do that, but i think you do need at least one sheer no-brainer shade. gold blush is very light, just some subdued gold sparkle...tender is a little darker but still not alot of color. if you want to try out the black label (which is a very nice formula), get aria. i have all three of those shades and like them all--i use tender the most of the 3.
my other thought is both foreplay and darling are sheer peachy-pink shades...maybe just pick one?
and polished pink and cultured are both pinky nudes...as karen mentioned, polished pink the browner of the 2 with more shimmer...
good luck!

I just wanted to second what packgal said. I even think she was a better help than I would have been. The only thing I might eliminate is Fashionista. It is very pigmented and might be a little too dark for the first go around. If you like Cultured in your first batch, and tink you could handle something more opaque in that color, Fashionista will be a good choice.

Thank you, ladies!! I guess I will have to get most of what's in my cart.
Is there a lipstick that you think would work instead of Fashionista? I would love to try the lipstick formula, but if Fashionista is too dark I'd like to try something else.

Thanks :-)

If you really have your heart set on lipstick, Fashionista and Negligee are very good choices. The others are definitely darker. I just wanted to make sure you wanted the opaque color rather than the sheer color.
