Fresh tone / white based Lip primer

Post by jien » Sun Nov 29, 2009 6:53 am

I'm wishing for a SN lip primer that works like a concealer for the lips, doesn't plump the lips, and doesn't dry out the lips. I think it will be very useful for unevenly pigmented lips (like mine) or for lip colors to apply true to color.

Urban decay seems to have something similar to what I want (http://www.urbandecay.com/products/LipP ... Potion.cfm), but its website says their lip primer is 'invisible' (i.e. not colored??). I'd never tried it, the brand is not available in my country and doesn't ship internationally.

Its not something that I've ever tried myself, but quite a few ladies here use the new lipstick "XXX" as a lip primer to cover or blank-out their natural lip colour so that ligher colours can be applied colour true. Is that any use to you?

I have pretty dark lips, and Modern Poet almost blanks them out. I'm wondering if the eye primer might be any good for this, too?

Hi Cupcake & Rhys, Thanks for your suggestions. I'm looking for something paler, so it doesn't interfere with the colors of the lip gloss/lipstick... XXX - I think it is too brown and will likely lighten the color of the lipstick. Modern Poet -- I have it in my massive cart ready to be checked out. It's good to hear that it can cover up pigmented lips. As a base, I'm not sure (too much shimmer?) -- I would know once I get it :)

I'm not sure if we are allowed to promote other brands here, but ELF's studio line has one that I kind of like. I put it on, blot, and then let it set for few minutes while I put on the rest of my makeup and it works like a charm. I do not have SN eye primer, but if it works the for both eyes and lips I would definetly purchase it. Hope this is helpful. :)
