SN recipe for EDM foundation match?
Re: SN recipe for EDM foundation match?
Does anyone know what some approximate SN recipes would be for the EDM shades Olive Medium and Light Almond? I'm sure I'll have to use some green color booster, but I wasn't sure how much. Ideas?
Re: SN recipe for EDM foundation match?
SN has an olive coloured base - if you're olive toned that might be the place to start. The EDM Almond struck me as more yellow, but it's hard to tell from their site what the colours look like in real life.
Re: SN recipe for EDM foundation match?
The olive base alone was edging on peachy on me...definitely not enough olive (or yellow either).

Do you have a picture you can post over in the foundation help thread? Preferably in natural light w/o makeup, so we can see what might suit you. You can also look through the last several pages of it - a lot of EDM gals have got pics and recipes up there, too.
I haven't used EDM in years, and one of the frustrations I had with it (it may have changed since then) was that it was near-impossible to guess my foundation colour from either the descriptions or the pictures on the site, so I do understand some of your frustration.

If you need olive and yellow tones in your foundation you will need either Warm Gold or Buttery Gold. They both have about the same amount of olive, but differ in the amount of yellow. Our Olive base is just olive. If neither of those are olive enough, you will need to add some Green Color Booster. I would try 1 Warm Gold:about 8 Ivory and add a little green at a time...starting with a half scoop. If you can wait a day or two, I will play around with the samples I have and see if I can come up with a more exact number on how to work the green into the recipe.

It is strange, true. But when you think about it, it is not all that strange, really. We know that pink and yellow sort of evens out each other, and that the EDM Beige family is supposed to be fairly colour neutral running neither noticeably pink nor yellow. Just Peach gave me a nearly Cool Pink shade. Just Buttery Gold gave me something closer to Golden Fair, but a bit more yellow. Combined, and I got a shade just in between: Sandy Fair. I'm a NW15, or at least that is my closest match, in Mac. So, definitely more peach/pink undertones and no noticeable yellow ones for me either.BlowFarAway wrote:That's weird.. I wear Sandy Fair/Ivory and I have ZERO yellow in my skin. I could see peach, but definitely not buttery gold.

Oh, I can't wear MAC at all, it all looks so gross, yellow, orange, and dark on me. That probably explains why.

Have you found a SN formula yet BFA? I wear Sandy Fair too, and I'm looking for recipes. Due to Agnes's recommendation, I'll end up throwing a sample of peach into my cart along with the regular foundation sample kit.BlowFarAway wrote:Oh, I can't wear MAC at all, it all looks so gross, yellow, orange, and dark on me. Re: SN recipe for EDM foundation match?
I was wondering what base I should use. Perhaps Ebony? or Dark Ebony? Here is a pic of me without makeup and for reference I wear EDM-Medium Beige Neutral. Thank you for any advice!
