Hiya’s, so I know that idolize is a must have. But seeing the swatches that are around, it really reminds me of EDMs 11:59
. Does anyone have both and can to a swatch of them? Even if you can’t put a pic, could you explain if there are any differences? I just got EDMs 11:59 from the holiday re-issue and I am loving it. I find it to be a sort of greyish-taupe with a slight purple colour to it with a nice shimmer (not glitter) to it, and very easy to build up. Works as a wash and can make also a nice crease colour with some layering. Just wondering how similar these two are and if I need both?
So far I am liking the texture if the SN e/s to EDMs, in general that is. Some of EDMs are fine, but some can have a cakey look to them, making my eyes look crepey...
TIA
Was EDM Buff Perfect. Currently, 1:8 Original Ivory, Warm Gold. !!! Loving SN

Yeah, I was half expecting someone to ask this question because EDM's 11.59 and Take Out are quite similar to Idolize in swatches.
The first thing is that Idolize looks nothing special in swatches. It looks boring in the jar BUT when worn on the eye, the complexity of the shades picks out the tones in your skin and suits everyone, no matter what your skin tone and eye colour. It's so much more than a "what you see is what you get" colour like the EDM colours. Karen's layered tones and colour-finish-appearance-textures of colour really come alive when worn on the eye - even looking different to the way they appear in hand swatches.
The second thing is the physical texture of the minerals. The softness is sooo much more flattering than the two other EDM shades. Those minerals are coarser in texture so they don't sit so well on the eyelid, nor do they spread out so finely to reveal all the layers of colour composition. As the day goes on, EDM shadows often change as they react to skin oils etc and become sludgy brown or grey and they can lose their shimmery layer, or some tones from the colour are lost. You don't get that with Idolize.
So simply, it has a complexity of colour that suits everyone because it blends to your skintone rather than being a flat one-tone that looks the same on everyone. Secondly, the texture makes a world of difference. Hope that helps. A swatch photo still would not tell you the whole story.

Yes - I've got to dash out just now but I'll PM you later and sort out sending you a parcel of SN - some to rehome as the colours are dark for me, some to sample.
Laptop and Pink Twink GWP are not too dissimilar and I've got a spare one...

Oh cupcake, I was not interested in pink twink based on the name (I imagined a matte baby pink, lol) but now I must have it! Better go post in the holiday thread, lol!

Thanks for posting this question la_canadiense! I, too, was thinking I could pass on Idolize but after cupcake's description I now know that I can't!
