They're just magnetic markerboards- you can buy them at walmart. i stick magnets to the tops of the jars- i've been peeling off the labels and sticking them ontop of the magnet so it's easier to figure out what it is.

i use the red sponge and a hydrosol to apply foundation most days (sometimes i just use a flattop but not usually). I buy mine from Dayna's minerals on vox, I forget what brand they are, they come 3 to a pack with a pink bullseye on the package i think. i just buy them from her. lol

oooooooooooooh ^_^

I've never applied foundation that way before, what do you feel are the pros and cons vs. the flat top? Would you say its better for skin types that tend to be drier? btw, i just got my flat top in the mail today! Suuuuper soft :D Can't wait to use it tomorrow!

I like the sponge because you get good coverage that looks really natural, very fast. If there's going to be color change, you can usually tell right then. I do go back over it with a flattop to blend (sometimes with more powder, sometimes just bare for buffing). I don't know that it makes a difference for the skin type, although if your foundation tends to look dry, this helps eliminate that. Some people (not me) mix their foundation with moisturizer and i don't see why you couldn't dip the sponge in a moisturizer and then in some foundation, blend and apply. I spray my sponge with a hydrosol and dip into the swirly bowl so it's the same idea.

I do love that flattop, i have two and it's what i used for about 3 years before i started using a sponge. I mostly use it for blending right now unless i'm in a hurry or am having a particularly good skin day (People always say i have perfect skin but i am inclined to disagree)

Oh wow that's sounds really cool! I totally want to try that! Looks like I'll be getting some red sponges this weekend =)

So you spritz the sponge with hydrosol, then dab the powder and blend blend blend? :)

I have some Rose Water

It looks like they also have one with glycerin

And Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner

Pretty much. It's almost like sponge painting. I swipe it from my nose along my cheekbones and then blend it out and then hit my chin nose forehead.

I've used several hydrosols and they all give slightly different results but you use what works for you. i have one in orange blossom, one in sweet lavender, SN's strawberry, a rose geranium one. Whatever you like should work.

I love love love the magnetic marker boards for makeup. I wish I had space in my apartment for them. Your stash is very impressive!
