New here and wondering about faves

Hi Ladies!

i am new to this forum but some of you may recognize me from the EDM forum. I am a makeup addict looking for a new forum home to chat about makeup and this looks like a great place.

Anyway, I was wondering what some of your fave silk natural products are. I have some shadows from silk naturals that I love, a green mystery color that is just labeled mystery. I wish I could figure out what color this was so I could order a large. Oh and Fools Gold is gorgeous, Amalglam is so pretty and Bewitched is gorgeous as well. I am not looking for a foundation yet, I have to use up what I have but I am a eyeshadow, blush and lip gloss addict. So can you help a newbie out please? Oh and the Zinc powder looks interesting, will it dry out already dry skin or is it ok for dry skin? I have dry acne prone skin so I have to be careful not to dry it out too much.

My skintone is a light olive color and I have brown hair and brown eyes so I can wear a lot of shades.

One of my favorites from SN was a total surprise -- Tart blush. It looks positively frightening in the jar, but it gives the most beautiful, fresh flush. Applied with a light hand, it even looks natural. I'm Asian (quite yellow, warm-toned) and normally this color (very cool, very pink) would scare me off, but luckily I got a sample and I've been loving it ever since. I think if this color could work for me, it would work for most people.

The elegant brown quad is beautiful and I'm very fond of quartzite. With your skintone, I think you'll really love burnished too. Charmed is one of my favorite greens.

"Mystery" is just that- it's its name and a GWP (Gift With Purchase) Color. It is very pretty. GWP colors change every friday, the latest was "Unique"-a pretty green-gold dragonwing color.

Zinc is supposed to be healing for most irritated skin unless you're one of the rare people who's skin doesn't tolerate it. The pure zinc powder makes a nice smooth primer under foundation and adds extra SPF protection. It does turn skin white though- some people tint it to match their foundation.

I don't have a lot in my SN collection yet but wanted to mention that there's another thread (http://www.silknaturals.com/forum/viewt ... f=4&t=1438) where Xarata gives some great descriptions of the many SN purples, which might be helpful (and enabling!) for you, as purples tend to complement brown eyes especially well.

Hi sunshinegal! My favorite blushes are Carnal, Cider, and Satisfied. I've only tried a couple so far so I have alot more to go! But I'm loving the colors I've tried. Carnal looks really scary in the jar, but it is such a beautiful color. It's really hard to describe, but you have to get a sample. I apply this with a light hand with my foptic brush. I also love Cider. For me, since my skin tone is a little deeper, it gives me a subtle healthy flush. And satisfied is a beautiful sheen warm pinky blush. All of these are really beautiful colors!

Good to know that the Zinc turns white on skin. Do they ever reissue the free GWP colors? I would love to have mystery in a larger size since i am almost out.

KingTaco, now that is funny! I didn't have an account or anything in my cart but I had been on here looking before, many many times. I just get a little overwhelmed by the choices but with all of your ladies help I am sure I can figure out some great things to purchase.

By the way, I love the names of these blushes you all listed. They have cute names.

I have similar coloring to yours - brown hair/eyes, although I'm more medium toned and my favorite blushes are Satisfied (peachy pink), Forbidden (red), Charming or Babydoll (pink), Lady (neutral rose), and Carnal (plummy)

Lippies - oohhh so many!! Gold Blush, Maiden, Nectar, Precious, Soft, Tender, Polished Pink, Aria, Rhapsody, Ice Princess, Frolic to name a few

I have just started to venture into eyeshadows but I'm loving Cougar & Wildcat, Burnished, Nudge Nudge, Rizzo & Danny. Idolize is a forum favorite!

The finishing powders are also fantastic - EDM was my first foray into MMU, but I switched over to SN almost 2 years ago because of Date Bait and then Love Lure.

And the skin care line is truly a must-try, it has done wonders for me. Welcome, by the way, hope you find some things you love!

My faves so far are:
Zinc Powder - great for acne prone skin, I use it as a primer. Its pretty sheer, so it doesn't turn white on me, but maybe thats because I'm so white as it is. It also acts as sunscreen, so that's an added bonus.
Finishing Glows - love Libery and Crystal, so pretty and give you just a touch of healthy glow.
Blush - Cosmic is amazing, it looks hot pink, but applied like a healthy flush, with a bit of golden glow to it.
Lippies - don't have many, but I really like Precious, it is a sheer pink with gold shimmer.
Eyeshadow - I only have a couple, but Sprite is a must have, it looks white, but applied gives the prettiest golden sheen/shimmer. I also like Whisper, it is a light pink with a strong gold sheen/shimmer.
I also have the Amethyst cream liner, which is very nice.

Hi Sunshinegal and King Taco! (I'm tyk71 on the edm forum)

I love the lippies here--Mirabelle and Desire are my current favorites, and I also love Rare Berry. These are so wonderfully moisturizing, and the color lasts for me.

The zinc powder feels really nice as a primer, and my foundation seems to last longer. I am also currently in love with "Date Bait"--the vegan formula. I also love Desert Plum blush at the moment. I usually stick with corals/peachie-pinks, though, and my favorites of those colors are definitely Stardust and Wish You Were Here.

I agree with Oxana124--Liberty and Crystal are both really pretty.

Purple eyeshadows--I love Vineyard and Adventure. Very different purples, but equally pretty for brown eyes!
