Re: SN vs EDM glosses
I hated the EDM gloss that I bought once. It's in a drawer somewhere and has never been used.
My SN glosses, on the other hand, are worn exclusively.
If you like cooler glosses, I would suggest for you Aria as a Black Label lippie- the texture of the BL glosses are second to none. I tend to like warmer and neutral colors, but I think Aria is just lovely.
I wear the foundation exclusively, as well as the blushes. I get tons of compliments that I simply never received before I started wearing SN. I thought minerals were simply not for me, as I had had a bad experience with Pur Minerals (whose finish I liked) and I think Bare Minerals make your face look dirty. I later figured out that the Bismuth Oxychloride content was the likely culprit in my experience with Pur Minerals- it made me break out in welts and blisters, something I've never had since I've gone to etailers that don't put it in their stuff.
I've worn EDM, and I just don't like it as well. I can't get as good a color match, and I can't tailor the formula perfectly. I think if Intensive is what you like, you would probably be the happiest with the Medium coverage.
I have become a total mad scientist in terms of my everyday items. I mix a hybrid of foundation in Medium and Original- and occasionally throw in a little glow. For my primer powder, I use the Zinc Powder- I cannot say enough about this product. It's an absolutely beautiful multi-tasker. I mix it with a scoop of Green Corrector, a scoop of Yellow corrector, and a scoop of Buttery Gold foundation. It works as a primer- absorbs the oilies as well as the Oil Control Primer, is not as sheer as the aforementioned product, offers a butter-soft finish for your other makeup, corrects my redness, calms my rosacea and helps act as a barrier to prevent irritation. (Zinc oxide is the active ingredient in Desitin). It also *might* have a certain attribute that we're not supposed to tout as Gospel, but there's a mineral powder sunscreen on the market that has that blend of Z-cote and Titanium Dioxide. If you have 40 bucks, it can be yours. Or you can buy Karen's and pay 9 instead.
I blend my own custom finishing powder with a perfecting powder and the Oil Control Blur.
OK, I jumped the shark entirely on the subject line, but there's a lot of ladies who can help you here, particularly JenW who is a wizard and pegging one's color base from a picture!
That Brown Sugar & Vanilla lip scrub is addictive. It's all one can do not to scoop it out and start eating it!
I think the skin care line is also fantabulous. Much better than smearing craptastic paraben-laden commercial garbage on your face.
And if that isn't enough- you support a business that is owned and operated by a woman, and by doing so, you support capitalistic, free-market principles, and a small business entrepreneur.

Re: SN vs EDM glosses
oh oh oh!! I also have XXX- ultra nude matte vegan lipstick in my cart. Let me know how you like it? I am always looking for a nude lippie! I am waiting on my second SN order, it is already a week later than normal...
and I already have a massive order in my cart ready to go!
with the foundation I used to wear EDM Buff Perfect (am I repeating myself?? I am too lazy to go see if I already posted this....and with SN I am wearing Warm Gold. I tried a batch with Medium Coverage as well as Original, not sure which I like better, the original has the glowy thing going on, but not soo much like EDM. If I swatch them beside eachother, the EDM is SO shinny (EDM O-Glo that is). I think I may have gone a bit overboard yesterday with my foundation, I appied three layers of the original and by the end of the day my hubby said it looked like I had lots of makeup on!!
I am really not a fan of being able to see foundation....
I have also used the medium coverage, I might like that more. I find I only need one layer, so it is less makeup on my face. I can get away with no makeup, my skin is pretty good. But I have quite a few red angry scars that just don't seem to want to fad...so I find a need enough coverage to get rid of those....
anyhow, you might also be happy with the medium, maybe get a sample of that as well. I think in the sale area they have the medium ivory, so you could always get a sample of that to see how you like it...
hope you like this foundation! I am much happier with it than EDM. I just still cannot believe that my makeup is still on by the time I am washing my face at night!! this is after a full day of work, walking to and from work (1 hr) and walking durin lunch time... in Irish rainy windy weather, and it is still on!!

Re: SN vs EDM glosses
My favorite nude is Mirage. Its a vegan lippie and is a great nude color and feels awesome! I also love modern poet liquid wand. I would love to see that in a lippie!BlowFarAway wrote:HI canadienese! I've been having the same problem lately with EDM. Just this year my skin has turned from an oil slick to much drier, but I still need full coverage. My beloved intensive mix is now making me look speckly and flaky, much worse when I do my usual wet and pat.
For a nude should I get Precious, Centerfold or Divine? Centerfold looks the most "nude" of the three, but Divine looks like a nice, slightly pink version. And what about Precious? So many choices!
