Shiseido Rose Quartz lipstick
Shiseido Rose Quartz lipstick
I saw a spread in the newest Allure where the new Shiseido holiday collection was used. The lipstick is a gorgeous light pink - it looks lighter than Bloom, and has a nice sheen - perhaps a candidate for the new liquid glosses? Here is the release pic: http://www.us.shiseido.com/colormakeup/holiday2009.htm
I don't know how to find the magazine pics online, sorry. The inspiration behind the color was rose quartz, the gemstone itself. It would work great with the new metal collection.

Re: Shiseido Rose Quartz lipstick
It's a bit like Tart Light in a lipstick.
I bet it's very beautiful and delicate. Nice choice, Egerandi.

Oooooh that is pretty
I am coincidentally wearing what I think could be a similar home made shade today - a dab of XXX with Bloom on top, paired with a metallic shadow (I feel like a traitor but it's Meow Expedition from their LE Lost Rainforest collection but essentially a grey-ish golden-ish shade) and a smudge of Loverly cream blush. Not worn this combo before but works pretty well

Egerandi, Its sooo funny you posted this! This is the exact color I'm looking for to go with the "strawberry and champagne" blush I'm trying to replicate. (which we talked about in another thread) I bought bloom to see if it was the color I want. I'm going to go pick up this months allure to check out how they had their colors. So I will definitely buy an SN version! What color shadow are they wearing with it?egerandi wrote:I saw a spread in the newest Allure where the new Shiseido holiday collection was used. Kitten, cool idea to put XXX under it, I don't have that one, maybe I should get that too

Re: Shiseido Rose Quartz lipstick
If your own lip color is a bit dark, XXX is a must! I'm still experimenting with it, but if used carefully, it's a great base to make the other colors truer on my lips. I was trying to replicate that light pink lip shine, and this is what I ended up doing:
Mixed Tart Light with Alba Botanica's colorless gloss, and although it was gorgeous, it's just a bit too colored/bright. Then I found a bit of leftover Cheeky blush (pale cool pink, now discontinued, but I think it should come back
) with Alba, and that was a bit too light, barely showed up on my lips. So, I lightly layered XXX on my lips, then put a bit of the Cheeky gloss and then a bit of the Tart Light gloss, and I think I got it!
I'm considering mixing the two glosses for the perfect color, but if you don't have Cheeky, I think cutting Tart Light with a bit of Ivory should do it. I would still like an SN version, as I'd rather use Karen's gloss than Alba
BTW, for that ice princess look, you could try mixing a sparkly light pink eye shadow with a gloss: I mixed my sample of Whisper with the Alba gloss, and the effect is pretty nice! I think it would work great with Cashmere as well, or even Opal.... I bought a bag of 100 small containers (like the one the liners and cream blushes come in, and I'm planning on mixing a lot of these, it's fun
If Karen could come out with a gloss base for easy mixing, I would be all over it! Flavorless is preferred - Alba's gloss is waaaay overwhelming for my taste.

Re: Shiseido Rose Quartz lipstick
I too love to mix the blushes with clear lip gloss. So many of them are so gorgeous...(tart, stardust, cosmic, bronze beauty, maybe baby)...a clear liquid gloss from Karen would be great...and also that mixing base for making cream blushes!
Re: Shiseido Rose Quartz lipstick
I bought SN vegan shine, maybe I can try and use that with some whisper? (I have that and cashmere as well) Those containers sound really fun! Great idea. I hope Karen makes a clear liquid gloss as well!egerandi wrote:If your own lip color is a bit dark, XXX is a must! Re: Shiseido Rose Quartz lipstick
Yes, using it with some clear stick gloss may work too - I'm just not handy enough to make it happen, that's why I mix with the gel glosses. Good luck, and let us know how the ice princess makeup came out!
Re: Shiseido Rose Quartz lipstick
I don't own either of these yet but if you have sparkle how about mixing daydream withegerandi wrote:Yes, using it with some clear stick gloss may work too - I'm just not handy enough to make it happen, that's why I mix with the gel glosses. It? Would that make it light enough to be close to the rose quartz gloss or would it be to sparkkly? How about bloom with sparkle?
For my blush I mixed tart light and angel glow and its pretty close to what I'm looking for.

Are there any SN e/s you think match the allure spread?
Re: Shiseido Rose Quartz lipstick
I think Daydream may be a little to dark, but you could maybe tone it down with Sparkle. It's still different from the effect I got with all that mixing, which is what I think was closes to Rose Quartz. Bloom and Sparkle would be closer, but it would be sparklier than what I was looking for.
As for the eye shadows, I don't own many metallic ones, but you can find the ones Karen offers at http://www.silknaturals.com/creb/index.php?cPath=29_54 and of course the new ones at http://www.silknaturals.com/creb/produc ... cts_id=971
Have fun!
