Help Me Pick Highly pigmented, shimmery, high sheen ES

Post by Allyxx » Fri Oct 16, 2009 9:08 am

Hey guys,

Please please please help me pick some eyeshadow colours! I have brown eyes asian skin tone with warm/yellow undertones. I need shades that really emphasize the eyes yet are neautrals (i don't mind some colour) but here are some of the ones i'm eye-ing:

Frenchie
Idolize
Posh
Cream

If anyone is familiar with Mac's Veluxe pearl or starflash finishes..thats what I'm after! High sheen! :D

Frenchie is creamy with a hint of pink, Cream is more neutral cream and both are very pale in color. I do think Posh and Idolize (everyone needs Idolize) are great choices. Frenchie, Cream and Posh are all the high coverage sheen without sparkle (by this I mean the sparkle is very fine...more of a shimmer....and not larger particle). I am not sure you need both Frenchie and Cream right away. ;) Cream also has a hint of copper.

I love idolize too as it's a very versatile shade and goes with almost anything.

Have you considered Bare? It is pretty shimmery too. Although, it is a lighter shade than Chic, you can layer it to make it more dramatic and it goes very well with idolize.

Brown Sugar and Taupetastic are a couple more that look good on most everyone, and Boom isn't shimmery, but it's a pretty good all-around highlight colour.

Still - you need Idolize. Everybody needs Idolize.

I haven't had a chance to try the new mixed metals palette yet and won't for another few months, but it looks lovely and in the colour range you want.

I got Heather and Burnished from the Mixed Metal palette, and they seem both what you're looking for. Heather can be packed on for intensity, and goes great with Idolize (yes, everybody needs Idolize!), and Burnished is a gorgeous and versatile color as well. I also have Boom - pretty much my go to base color for neutral or smoky eyes.

What colors do you like? Blues? Purples? Give us a hint, and I'm sure the suggestions will be pouring in :)

i recommend cashmere, soiree and quiver...
others that i have not tried but that i would look at are nekkid, adventure, heart throb, plush, thrills...
vineyard, pop, escape, or velvet if you can do purple!
grassroots, superfly or shimmy, and groove if you can do green!

LOL. My mom's friends said I looked like Fung Bo Bo when I was a little girl. When I read your comments, it was deja vu.

Have fun playing with the your new ES!
