Good point. Brushes should be washed at least once a week IMO.
That being said, sometimes the bristles just plain wear out. I think some synthetics have a coating that can come off if the wrong cleanser is used or if they just plain aren't very high quality. I'm assuming the brush in question was defective...?

No the brush was not dirty. As I said, I cleaned it according to the way the site said to: with rubbing alcohol. I cleaned it once a week, and gave it a good thorough cleaning once a month very carefully with a special brush cleaner that is specifically for synthetic brushes. I was very careful yet it started to fall apart and hurt me in less than a month.
