Making Tempt Tryst less glowy and tone down red/pink

Post by ruqayya33 » Fri Aug 21, 2009 10:10 pm

I just got my jar of Tempt Tryst- Golden Perfecting Powder and was wondering if you ladies know what I can add/use/do to reduce the glow and red/pink tone a bit.

Thaaaaaaaaanks
Medium warm-golden olive complexion - oily skin - some redness on cheeks & tip of nose - dark (blue) undereye circles - BSL dark auburn curls - green/blue/gray eyes (changing with environment)

I mix mine with untinted oil control blur - 10 blurs to 6 or 7 TT. TT is a too dark for me in itself, and I love the blurring effect I get from blur. If you don't have blur, the original perfecting powder may work nicely too. I actually haven't noticed the red/pink in it, so I'm not sure how to reduce that, but perhaps the yellow booster powder may help if mixing with the others doesn't reduce it enough for you?

Another thing to add sparingly if you want to reduce red/pink is Unblush. It is a light green.

Thanks for the replies, ladies. :D

I think that it 's not too dark for me; in fact, I think it's close to the right depth (slightly on the lighter side than my skintone,) so I don't really want to lighten it too much. I just need to remove a little bit of the red/pink to take it more toward neutral or a little olive...... and I want it to be more semi-matte - or even matte.

I will try a couple of small batches mixed with the unblush and the untinted blur...... and see what happens.

My advice is to mix Oil Control Blur with some of the Yellow pigment powder, perhaps even a pinch of buttery gold foundation to give it a little more depth, and then mix it with your TT. Now....I'm very fair and I can make my TT a little bit lighter- I mix it with the Untinted OC Blur, and a bit of yellow pigment powder. I've found that this is less glowy for me, which is fine.

To be honest, I find the Tempt Tryst not pink at ALL, which is why it remains my favorite and HG finishing powder shade. The subtle golden glow makes my skin look fabulous- reduces my redness, and I get tons of compliments.
