Brainwave: Contouring

Maybe I'm a little slow on this, but since no one else has mentioned this - do any of you girls use SN foundation to create a contour shade? I was watching some instructional vids online on contouring and got terribly excited. Then when the artist said "the perfect natural contour shade is 2-3 shades darker than your normal foundation" it hit me. I'm a 1gold:6white girl. I could easily created a small amount of darker foundation as a contour shade.

I've taken an empty sifter jar and placed 2gold:3white in it. I didn't try anything too dramatic this time, just used a fluffy brush to blend it on the sides of my nose to make it look slimmer, and under my cheekbones to make them pop. So far it looks natural and I hope i'm not kidding myself, but I do have better cheekbones and a slimmer nose! Gosh I love SN foundations...

Will try it more seriously tomorrow + highlighter and see how much drama I can generate. If it's good I'll blog about it. =)

Has anyone else been doing this?

can't wait to c the results then!
lol!
Hmm...generally i wouldn't want to do any contouring on a daily basis. I just feel that because it improves the shape of my face too much, then one day when i walk ard without make up, i'll look "bad" as compared with make up. It's just a stupid phobia. lol! I'm just using foundation as a sunblock, ctrl oil & to cover all the stpd acne scars that i have.

Kahani,
This sounds like a great idea. I may have to give it a try, too. Let us know what you think!

I tried it, and there is definitely some contouring going on. I appear to have slightly more cheek bones and a less flat nose. However, I messed up and forgot to take before + after pics. Will get around to that! Verdict is, it's worth a try ladies for that special night.

That's an amazing suggestion! :D
I've heard so many wonderful tales of contouring and its virtues. Call me clueless, but it never occurred to me until now to try it with SN! Thanks so much!

Glad to please. =)

I'm a fan of experimenting with different products and using them in new and innovative ways. If it succeeds, I blog about it. If it doesn't.... well... umm I blog about it too under the "DO NOT DO THIS". I'm planning on starting a bad list actually... lol.
