Anyone know the origin of the magnesium stearate? Allergy ?s

Post by allergictoeverything » Tue Jan 17, 2017 12:18 pm

Hi there,

I haven't bought any SN products yet because I want to do my due diligence in making sure I'm not allergic to anything (hopefully). I am looking at the powder foundations.

Magnesium stearate can come from Palm Oil, and since I'm sensitive to Coconut, I'm hoping to avoiding anything that comes close to it. Just found out that Palm Oil derivatives is enough to set my off after the BF brought milk with vitamin A palmitate added...

I wanted to ask SN directly, but since I don't have an order number and don't want to buy until I know the source, I thought this would be the next best place to ask!

For the sake of clarity, here are all my allergies/sensitivities: Wheat, soy, strawberry, mushroom, hazelnut, coconut - all tested and confirmed. Palm is a new one.

Thanks!

Hi!
The magnesium stearate we use is vegetable sourced, but it's a "commodity item" so the exact plant used can vary from batch to batch according to what is in season, and the pricing. I have an allergy to a common ingredient, so I can definitely emphasize with what you're going through. I wish I had a better answer for you.
