I got a new tattoo today!

I swapped a Christmas present I really didn't need for something that I really, really wanted. The whole story is on my blog if you are interested.

~~~~Blushes~~~~~Thanks! It's all healed up now, and I really, really love it. This is my 3rd (so far....) and by far the biggest and most colorful. None of them were very painful, but I will admit this did hurt the most of the 3, because of all the shading that was done. Now time to start planning the next one......

I LOVE this!!! I have a couple...or a few...ok many. I started getting them after my breakup, but I still love them!!I have a large one on my back in color I will have to take a picture of...it was done to cover ex-hunny's name....BIG MISTAKE...HUGE!!!! Oh, the things we do for love.

Laurie, Where did you get the design for your tattoo? Reminds me of the paintings of a local artist, all fantasy and all his imaginary is comprised of other images.
Hotmama, That one on the top of your foot must of hurt, makes me cringe to think about getting needles there.

Actually, the inspiration for the tattoo was pretty basic......I wanted something *sort of sun and moon and floral*. I sent a couple of pics that I found online to *my tattoo guy,Dave*(which is what he will be called forever, now)and without even knowing me at all, he came up with this design. When I first saw the design, I really didn't like it at all...with all the shading and everything it looked kind of witchy-poo-ish, and I was going to have him change it and make it look more *cutesy*, and then I thought, oh, no.....I am not gonna be that person that makes the artist change his work, so I just chilled and told him to go for it. The thing is.....without even knowing it.....he really made it meaningful for me......the whole duality thing. I am a gemini, and I have bipolar disorder. My husband is a cancer(moon) and my rising sign is the sun. I love color, and it was very importand to me that this was very bright and deep and colorful. I never anticipated that I would love it as much as I do.
Well, you DID ask!!!
Nikki, I especially love the one on your shoulder! Get somebody to take a pic of the one on your back for us!!!!
