Brown Sugar & Vanilla Lip Scrub - unlikely Hero product

I received a sample a few days ago and this product has become an unlikey hero product!

Well, it came packaged in a wee jar which in turn was inside a closed-zip baggie. Just as well, the oils had seeped out from the jar and flooded inside the bag, but thankfully, had not escaped from the bag so no harm done. The smell in the parcel.... ahh I thought someone had sent me pudding :D

I placed the jar into the fridge to see if it would solidify the oils and make the scrub easier to use. In it's semi-melted form, it doesn't really work as there's too much oil in ratio to how much scrubby bits are picked up to apply.

I'm trying to lose weight and get healthier generally and my diet is pretty good, but I have a sweet tooth and wander mindlessly into the kitchen and - it's a total mystery, this, but somehow a frothy hot chocolate with sprinkles can appear in my hand before I have time to think and refuse.... ;)

Well.... that wee jar has sat in direct line of sight in my fridge for a few days now. Do you know, every time I've wandered into the kitchen *needing* something sweet, I open the fridge and stare into it hoping by some miracle those carrots have morphed into chocolate eclairs (a girl can hope) and instead, I find the wee jar, take a little dip and smudge it onto my lips as a moisturiser and that heavenly delicious taste and scent completely satisfy my sweet tooth urges. Well, long enough to escape the danger zone that is the kitchen, anyway. In the four or so days it's been in there, I haven't cheated on my diet not even once!!

Therefor, I nominate Brown Sugar & Vanilla Lip Scrub as Hero product of the year.... or the worlds smallest and longest lasting snackpot of pudding substitute :D

Sounds so good! I really hope Karen will include that in her holiday line 'cause I would love to try it! Especially in this cold weather my lips always tend to be more chapped.

I got a sample of this in my order along with an eye shadow in a baggie. ( A purple shade I have not tried.) It really does smell good enough to eat.

I know I'm a little late in the game, but OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!

I just got my new SN haul in and in this haul, I included the Vanilla scrub. I LOVE the smell!!!! And I was soooo happy with the smell, and the consistency of the product that I started taking photos! I will post it as soon as I've given it the runaround in Comiclife. I just got a new mac and this lip scrub has inspired me to do a comic on it!!!!

I am so thrilled. I was worried that because of the oils, it would leak or seep out and contaminate the other products, but except for the teensy bit of sheen on the pot, it was intact.

I tried it immediately and, well, when I was done, I ate it... since its just Brown Sugar, Avocado Butter, Olive Butter, Honey, Vanilla Seeds, Natural Vanilla Flavor, well, I won't get a tummy ache. =) Its so full of vanilla seeds! I know vanilla pods are not cheap here, but Karen, you really loaded it generously with those seeds! Wow! I could smell it when i opened my bubble envelope!

Sounds delicious. And with my constantly chapped lips, something I could use. I only discovered Silk Naturals fairly recently and I'm already having trouble reigning in my spending

(I've read that cosmetics sales go up during recessions, because in hard financial times makeup is something women can afford to splurge on without breaking the bank. Certainly true here.)

I agree with the part about ppl still buying make up even in recession. I don't know about the big expensive brands, but I don't see myself letting go of Silk Naturals any time soon. I have given up on the branded stuff because I don't want to pay for their advertising campaign. And now that Karen's venturing into the Skin Care range, all the more reason to give up paying for overpriced products.
