Is this an okay request when ordering?

Hi - I was thinking - I'm about to make a few decent orders (still a newbie). I'm sold on foundation (have just ordered a couple samples of the different coverages). Is it okay when ordering products to add a note saying that I don't need sifters in the jars (like eyeshadow) etc. Or can I ask for smaller products to be packaged in a baggie (for simplicity and lighter shipping) if appropriate because I've got a ton of empty 5g and 10g jars from old samples from elsewhere.

(Or another idea, how about at checkout, you could tick an option field for "tick here if you don't need a jar, just a baggie"?)

Also, I'd love to order a foundation kit to get the container jar (which ironically, I have none suitable for foundation), but instead of ordering the kit containing one ivory and one base colour, could I request two of the ivory? This would be just because the standard refill bag of base could would go off long before I use it up. I honestly think a sample of base would be more than enough for a full size Ivory, for me!

So - are things packaged to order, or is it okay to make requests (even if the answer is 'no')? Thanks a lot, in advance.

The double Ivory foundation kit is much easier to do than the 'no sifters' or baggie products. Please make sure you put the request for the Double Ivory Kit in the comments box. When I have a request, I usually put a row of some kind of symbol in the first line to get their attention when they view the packing slip. I usually use ******, but any of those symbol thingies will do.

In the current setup, the blushes and eyeshadows are 'jarred' before the staff fills orders. Another problem is, your shipping is calculated as you fill your cart based on weight. This might be a possiblility in the future because reduced packaging is desirable. On the other hand, Karen has a pretty streamlined system in order to get orders out quickly. Most likely, she will need time to think on it, and how it will impact the shipping process.

No problem on the double ivory substitution- just put a note in. Pretty much what Jen said on the rest. It makes perfect logical sense to offer baggies, but the practical reality of keeping 200+ products stocked in a few different packaging options is biting off a little more than we can chew.

As for packaging, that's fine. I wasn't sure if you pack to order or pre-pack. If it had been 'pack to order', I was thinking it'd be quicker and easier to pack into a wee baggie to save you time fiddling about with sifters etc but pre-packed 'as it comes' is also fine, too. I have an ice-cream tub half full of old 5g jars, lids and sifters spare. Handy for decanting samples for mates, but I was just thinking that reducing packaging (if it had been packed to order) would be a tiny bit less expense and waste, that's all. Thanks ladies!
