Sleep In A Jar Under-eye concealer instructions?

Post by pinkpomelo » Tue Nov 11, 2008 4:06 am

Hi Hi,

I just received my SN foundation samples kit today. I'm very excited!

In the instructional leaflet, it says:
Our Sleep in a Jar concealer in combination with our foundation will get rid of (under-eye circles). If they're really dark, you may want to mix the foundation just a little bit lighter than the rest of your skin to give you a more "well rested" look.
Does this mean, I mix up a new batch of foundation that is a shade lighter than the one for my whole face, just for my under-eyes?

Or does it mean that I just add more white base foundation mix into the Sleep in a Jar powder?

I'm confused.

Please help?

I made a small "batch" of my regular foundation mix (1 ebony to 5 ivory "medium") and added one more scoop of ivory. On most days, a swipe of that with the concealer brush over my regular foundation works great. If I'm sleep deprived, the peach medium concealer works even better, again, on top of my foundation. A swish with Date Bait blends everything nicely. Hope this helps.

lcash is right. For some, a lighter version of their foundation will be the right concealer for them. It really is a 'try a bunch of ways and see what works best' kind of an endeavor. Yellow and green correctors rarely work for me. I need the peach. It may be different for you. That is the beauty of samples!!!

I am wearing Sleep In A Jar today.

I raved about it in my other post, and I thought I'd say it again here, in case any other ladies were wondering what happened to my experimenting. I haven't tried making a lighter version of my foundation (I must -- and will -- try that! Thanks, lcash for helping me with the tip!).

So far, I'm very happy with my experience with Sleep in a Jar!

Right out of the pot, the peach colour just blended so well with my skin tone and brushing it on was like wiping away my dark under eye circles! What I love about Sleep in a Jar?

1. It applies so easily
2. A little goes a long way
3. It blends into my skin very well
4. No dry, powdery, cakey look. Just smoothness.
5. Worked for me right out of the pot!
6. When I take a photograph, I no longer have this whitish goggles around my eyes! Other concealers hide the eye circles, but make me look terrible in photos.

This is one time I'm so glad I took a leap of faith and bought the normal size! I'm going to bring it to my girlfriends and let them try it! I just know they'll love it too!

I LOVE Sleep in a Jar concealer under my eyes! At first I had bought the yellow one which was ok, but then got the extra light peach (since I'm kinda fair) and it works wonders! This is the first undereye concealer that has worked so well for me. I use it every day. I agree with everything Pinkpomelo said; it goes on smoothly, blends in real nice, and no powdery look at all! :D
