Blushes turn orange on me. Why?

Post by ralphi » Thu Feb 12, 2015 1:53 pm

Even the very cool-toned blushes and eyeshadows turn orangey. Is this a common thing?

I assume it has to do with the minerals mixing with my natural oils; the foundation does darken on me, but it doesn't change tone/shade like the pinks do.

*edited to add: all brands of mineral blush (really anything pink/red) turn orange on me, so I know it's not just your products.

Mineral makeup can oxidize and turn more orange on the skin, I have that problem too, although not as bad as you. Also, in my case I have yellow undertones to my skin which make any color I put on look warmer. The only solution I have found is getting really cool toned stuff, like purple blush will look pink on me.

Thanks Oxana!
I've seen your swatch videos (thank you, btw, SO helpful) and we have really similar coloring too, so that could be making the problem worse for me. I'll definitely check out some purples next order :D
