Using Silk Naturals with liquid foundations

Post by Charz » Tue Feb 03, 2015 7:18 pm

Hi ladies,
I'm hoping some of you can share experiences with using powder products in combination with a liquid foundation base. I've always used mineral foundation but now I am thinking to switch. However I have invested in a lot of mineral products over the years, especially from Silk Naturals, and I would hate for them to go to waste. Can I still use things like all the finishing powders, Flattery, powder blush, powder eyeshadows and so on with a liquid base? Will it cake up? Any help appreciated.

You can totally still use everything. I use liquid foundation and it is really nice to set liquid makeup with powders, so you can use your finishing powders, and even your regular powder foundation too. I sometimes set my liquid foundation with powder foundation for more coverage. Powder blush will work over it nicely too. I am not sure how your eyeshadows would be effected at all, unless you are thinking of using liquid foundation underneath them as primer? It should work fine, I know people use concealers and foundations sometimes as eye primers. I personally have very crease prone eye lids, so I have only used eyeshadow primers underneath my shadows.

Wow, that is good to hear! I was thinking of using liquid foundation in the eyelid area, yes. I often do this with minerals just to even out some dark colouring around there. Thanks for your help!

I to use a liquid foundation and use a mineral foundation over top like Oxana. (Hi Oxana :) ) I had cancer and it made my face two different colors this helped a lot to cover it. It was on my arms from my wrist to my elbows and I would cover them with the foundation in the summer so it was not so odd looking. Its more like digital break up now and it easier to cover all the uneven colors. PTL and Im thankful for all the mineral MU we use to make up look great all the time. :D :D

I did not have skin cancer but it affected my skin this way. It was colon. And Im cancer FREE! PTL!
