I was wondering if anyone had some tips for helping makeup to last overnight. My eye makeup stays on fabulously all day, but it's gone (or worse, uneven) by morning if I sleep in it, even if applied freshly at night. I know it's bad to sleep in makeup, but there are certain times when I am unable to reapply makeup in the morning but still want to look made up. There are some brands I know I can use that would give me that result, but I'd prefer to do it with MMU if possible.
I've tried the cream eyeliner and it doesn't even last the day for me. I think I'm doing something wrong, applying it over the shadow (over base of cream concealer) doesn't seem to work for me.

I can't make the mineral foundation work for me at all, it just makes me look wrinkled and old. I've been using a natural liquid foundation but it is pretty sheer and fades by end of day.

Any suggestions or tips would be most appreciated!

i don't know the reason why you don't have time to apply makeup in the morning, but nonetheless i would highly recommend to use the time you would take to apply your makeup in the evening to go to bed that bit earlier, so you can get up a little earlier in the morning and do your makeup then.

if that isn't possible at all, here's my tips for longer lasting makeup:

- skip the cream concealer as eyeshadow base and/or replace it with stick'em eye primer
- either use an eyeshadow to line your eyes (you could try using the stick'em primer as a mixing medium; i also had good - and long-lasting - results with using the sn eyelash serum for that purpose), or top the cream liner with a little powder or eyeshadow
- for foundation, have you tried the all purpose formula? it can be applied with a slightly damp brush (or sponge) and doesn't look as dry that way; i generally find it creamier, even applied dry, and for me it is the longest lasting formula so far (still looks acceptable by the end of a 10 hour working day)
- when you wake up, gently pat the foundation "back into place", especially around the eyes and the nasolabial fold, where foundation tends to crease into the fine lines
- alternatively you might wanna try to do only your eyes at night, and give your skin a quick swirl of foundation (or maybe just a finishing/perfecting powder like equalizer or blur) in the morning, or skip foundation alltogether and only dab on some cream concealer with your fingers in the areas that need coverage

however, no matter what kind of industrial strength products you use and how cleverly they are applied... if you tend to toss and turn in your sleep (or even if you just like sleeping on your side, like me) most of the makeup will always stick better to your pillow than to your skin
sleeping on your back would be the gentlest on your makeup

i have yet to try a makeup setting spray from alverde (a german drugstore brand for all natural cosmetics) to see if that makes my makeup last longer during the day. i don't know if there's anything like that available where you live, but that could be another option for you to try.

I agree with above, I think your best bet is try to apply makeup again at night before bed, or at least refresh it. And then sleep on your back and not move

I know I personally have to use a non natural eyeshadow primer no matter what, even during the day, my eye lids are just incredibly crease prone.

Thanks so much for your responses. The reason I ask the question is because I observe the Sabbath and one of the laws of the Sabbath involves not doing things like applying makeup. So I usually wash off my makeup before the Sabbath starts at night. Lately I've given up reapplying at night because it looks so terrible the next day. But I'd like to try again.
Unfortunately I usually can't sleep on my back.
The All Purpose is the formula I've tried but I haven't tried too hard with the wet application. I'll have to play with that. I'll have to acquire some sponges I guess, because I have had trouble with the "buffing" with the brush. I can't use the concealer under my eyes without foundation because it just draws the eye to the redness in my cheeks. Maybe I should try a darker shade, but it looks too yellow to me.
I was thinking perhaps I would try the cream liner without anything else on my eyes and see if it sticks with the powder on top instead of beneath? I'm afraid to try stickem or the eyelash serum because I have to be careful with certain ingredients around my eyes. I do have some UDPP so may see if that helps.

They make special makeup that is designed to last overnight for the Sabbath, but I'm sure it's full of toxic ingredients and I just really prefer to stick with SN as much as possible.
