I was thinking about using several products, and was wondering about the best way to go about it, and also wanted to make sure it would be ok because I don't want to cause a chemical reaction to happen on my face when the products mix
I got the new Botanical Hydration Serum and wanted to use that in conjunction with the Mama's Helper serum, which should I put on first?
I also have another brand's moisturizer I use, which I mix with Sodium-PCA(which I just have in a dropper and it is diluted with rose hydrosol).
So just wanted to make sure all that would be ok.
Thanks!

Re: layering products
For myself, I mostly just squirt a little of each onto my fingertips, mush them together and go to town. For myself, it's really important that there be an actual moisturizer present with the biggest ratio to the others. My skin will almost always react without moisturizer. For me, it's usually a drop of body oil, a drop of blemish buster, and a squirt of lavender lotion. Sometimes I throw in something else, but usually instead of blemish buster rather than in addition to.

Re: layering products
Thanks,
I'm just hoping to find out the particular products I am using are ok to mix, I know some ingredients can react with each other, so I don't want to cause anything bad to happen.
I was also wondering Karen, if I could add a little SodiumPCA to the Botanical Hydration serum? Like pre-mix a batch like that? It would save me a step, but I don't want to ruin the serum. I have tried mixing a lotion and a serum before and it caused the end result to be all watery and lumpy, I think it un-emulsified or something.

Re: layering products
The general rule of thumb is most expensive product first- so you're getting the maximum benefit of "the good stuff". Sodium PCA will probably kill the gel in the botanical serum- the thickener is anionic, and not salt tolerant- so it might be a little iffy with the moisturizer depending on what emulsifier they've used. Worst case it pills a little. Sodium PCA also *might* be overkill- I really ramped up the hydration level on the serum, and stopped just short of it causing swelling.

Re: layering products
Thank you Karen,
So I will do Mama's Helper, then Hydration serum, then my moisturizer.
Will skip NaPCA for now, and see if my skin does ok without it.

Re: layering products
I will need more information that that before I can give a good answer. What kinds of creams and chemicals were the issue? What is your skintype, beyond sensitive? Are there issues you want to address besides just moisture? How old are you?samwalmart wrote:What is the best and natural way to keep the face moisturize,I had a very bad reaction to the creams and chemicals so i wanted to know about the more natural way so that i would not affect my skin at all.??
