Cream Shadow Gumball

Post by Oxana124 » Sat Nov 24, 2012 4:38 pm

So let's discuss this new goodie Karen's cooked up because I am in love with it!

I usually don't bother trying cream shadows that are not like super-unnatural industrial strength ones, because they just all crease on me. I have hooded lids that somehow manage to be oily even though my skin is dry. So I got the gumball thinking it wouldn't really work for me, but maybe I could wear it with primer or something, worth a try.

Boy was I amazed with this product. I am kind of obsessed with cream shadows, I seriously have a drawer full, I even seek out ones that aren't sold in the US on ebay.
I like to wear cream shadows as something quick, so I don't want to bother putting on a primer, cauz if I am going to have to put a primer on I might as well put a powder shadow on top of it, I have way more of a color selection of those. So I am testing this without any primer on, all I did before applying is wipe my lids with a q tip to make sure they were clean and not oily.
The SN cream shadow has all that I look for. It is easy to apply and blend, doesn't dry too quickly, is buildable without getting cakey, has good color payoff, and most importantly it lasts on me!
I have had it on for 5 hours now, which is only something that very few of my cream shadows can handle, and it is still going strong!
I seriously need more of these, I can already think of about 10 more colors I want :)
By the way this Curious color is quite nice, since I like cream shadow for a quick 1 step look, I look for light colors that I can wear all over, and this is such a color. It is quite shimmery, but I did build it up to be nice and opaque, I think it looks pretty glamorous.
I would love more light colors, maybe something just a tad lighter, and also more pearl rather than shimmery, just for variety. Maybe a version that is more of a gold, and another that is like a baby pink. Those would be fun :)

I am so excited to get mine!!!
I already know that I would so very much love to see this in a light purple sort of like Breathe, a brown (like Fusion), a color like Quiver (looove this color!), and a pale gold/peach, and Adorn.
Or...would it be possible to get a "clear version" that we could add our shadow to? Like if I wanted to make my 5 favorite shadows into the cream formula, I could buy the shadow base in the wand and just carefully mix my shadows in.

I am in love with the cream formula, and I haven't even tested it yet!

Update on cream shadow - it lasted all day on me and when I went to wash it off, it rinsed off easily with water. Therefore it is not waterproof and I would not wear it to a pool party or in the rain. However, for other days it is perfect, I think because it dissolves in water and not oil, my oily lids were not a problem as they usually are.
I think the new Faerie prism shadow would make a very pretty cream shadow color :)

This might be a bit premature since I've only been wearing the gumball cream eye shadow for what, a few hours now, but I'm really liking it.

What I've found is that I need to not use the doe foot applicator to apply directly to my lids because when I apply it this way it only moves the shadow around and I'm left with some patchy spots. Either use the doe foot applicator to dot a few spots on the lids and use your finger to apply or take the doe foot applicator and dot it on your finger and apply with your finger to your lids.

This thing lasts pretty long. The shadow is a bit shimmery for my taste but I was able to tone it down with the Welcome Matte e/s (which I also love btw).

I'm hoping you come out with new colors for this as you got the formula down really well. :)

I wore this for the first time today and what a fun color! I don't normally wear to many shimmery shadows, but I really liked this one on my lids and will definitly be wearing it more often. I love the cream texture and this lasted the full day on my lids, however I did use a primer underneath-so not sure if that makes a difference. I dotted it on my lids and used my finger to spread it out and had no problem with uneven application. Hope to see more in the future :)

oh, I forgot to post that's how I did it too, dotted it on and then blended with finger. And then I put a little on my finger and went back and built the color up.

The cream eyeshadow is AWESOME!!! I love it... I was so excited about all the new stuff, I completely forgot to check and order the gumball with my first order!! So I mentioned in the notes section on my 2nd order that I had read great reviews and if they make them permanent, I might give them a try. (I'm not a big eyeshadow person!)... WELL, they included it in my package and I might now be an eyeshadow person!!!LOL! (Thanks to Susan!!!) I just took it off after almost 6 hours and it hadn't budged! That's really quite remarkable because I tend to have oily lids:) I dotted it on my eyelids and then used my finger to spread it and then added a little bit more to my fingertip and went over it one more time. It went on beautifully!

I'd love to see some more light colors in warm golds, warm pinks, and coppery tones.

I agree with Oxana, they need to make lots, lots more of these in lots and lots of different colors!!

And maybe surprise us with a New Year's collection featuring these?!?!lol!
