I need skincare advice

I have used Philosphy Purity cleanser for a while. It is really good. However, my face is quite dry these days. It is also acne prone and during the day it tends to get oily a bit. I just want to change to another cleanser, which is milder and more nourishing but still can deep clean my pores. Can I use Apricot oil cleanser. Besides, can you tell me which type my skin is? I'm not sure, but I think it is combination skin.

Your skin sounds dehydrated given that it can be both dry and oily at times. I'm assuming that you mean the same areas are changeable - that they can be oily at times and dry at times. The skin cells lose water from inside the cell and it looks lackluster, like a deflating balloon. The skin as a tissue doesn't work to protect and repair itself quite so well when it's dehydrated, so the pores swing between under producing and over producing sufficient oil. It's this oil that coats the cells, helps keep the water in and the overall appearance healthy. There's a lot of info on this forum about dehydrated skin so it's worth a search to find more detail.

Dehydration is easy to fix. It's about restoring a balance ensuring that you have enough water in the skin cells and enough oil covering them. Adding a simple hydrating serum will help. I recommend the Green Tea and Aloe Serum to start with as it's uncomplicated, effective and soothing. You can progress to more advanced serums later if you want to 'multi-task' and add in some anti-ageing elements into your skincare routine. Don't forget to add your moisturiser on top.

Purity is an awesome cleanser and it's one of the best on the market for removing mineral makeup without unsettling the skin's balance. I'd look at adding in a serum rather than changing cleanser at this stage, but yes, if you do change, both the KISS cleaner and Oil Cleanser work very well indeed.

Dehydration is a temporary condition, rather like sensitivity. It's not a long term skin type, rather something that happens and can be cured. If you have no other skin issues, your skin type is probably normal or leaning towards combination, but it's hard to say at the moment. Hope this helps a little.

I don't have anything to add as Cupcake has covered it..... I would try a hydrating serum first, too.

I need more information to recommend a moisturizer. Do you want something general, or are you looking for addressing specific skin issues. Also, an age range will help.

Most of our moisturizers are a bit different than a traditional emulsion of water and oil using a wax. They have more of a gel consistency.

I explained at the beginning about my skin condition. Then you and Cupcake recommended me Green Tea and Aloe Serum to address my dehyderated skin. I want to give it a try. But I also need a good moisturize to use along with the serum. Any recommendation? :) I'm 20 years old

Hemp is the best choice for acne prone skin.

Argan & Goji Berry is a little heavier than Hemp.

And Camellia Passionfruit might work, too.

I would sample the first and third for sure. Remember that the texture of these is not going to be like other products you have tried. The second might be great for night time if you wanted something richer than the other two.
