looking for a sheer red lip gloss ...

I have bought Bitten, but even though it's lovely, it's not exactly what I was looking for. Is there a red lip gloss (preferably not liquid) as sheer as Soft or Damsel are?

Have you looked at Sweetheart? It's sheerer than Bitten and, as the description says, "gives your lips a nice red tint."

What about Reddy? It is a Kisser Slicker. Not very shimmery on.

tardis, thanks for the suggestion. I have not looked at Sweetheart. A "nice red tint" is exactly what I am looking for! Unfortunately, Sweetheart sounds a little too shimmery for me (sorry, I forgot to mention that I am not fond of shimmery lip glosses!).

JenW, thanks, I have Reddy and for some reason it's even less sheer than Bitten on my lips

What I do now is layer Bitten over Pure, or blot it and then layer Pure on top of it for more sheen. This leaves a lovely reddish tint, safe enough for work. But, it is rather cumbersome and hard to do without a mirror, so a sheer, lightly pigmented red would really be welcome :)

I guess I must be the one that is confused. I misread thinking you wanted something redder. Bitten is the sheerest red we have in a Kisser Slicker.

Have you ever tried Peachy Keen or Truly? Maybe sheer red is just too intense a shade to be safe for work for you. The others would give a hint of color to your original lip color. I kind of think Truly might work as kind of a muted red by the time it is on and sheered out in color.

Yes, I have tried both Peachy Keen and Truly. And both are really beautiful (well, Truly seems a tad too shimmery, but I still like it) ... I wouldn't call them true reds though.

I guess what I've been looking for is simply a sheerer version of Bitten. The Kisser Slicker formula is lovely and Bitten does have the right shade of red, but it is just a tad too opaque. Soft, Damsel and even Peachy Keen seem sheerer - almost like tinted lip balms. That's what I had hoped Bitten to be.

So, if Bitten is the sheerest red at the moment, I will stick to my current methods of applying it for now. Hope that Karen makes an even sheerer version one day!

Thanks anyway :)

ega--have you tried cerise? it is a liquid gloss but i think that you could apply it lightly enough that it could be quite sheer (like, maybe with a lip brush). i really like it for a sheer wash of true red without shimmer.

Thanks for the suggestion, I don't like liquid glosses much, but Cerise surely looks interesting. I'll need to get it too I suppose :)

Btw, I have tried using Rare Berry for "touch ups" during the day, and it seems to work quite well :) :o
