eye shadow for brown/olive green/gray eyes?

My eyes look like a medium brown from even 2 feet away, but they actually have a lot of olive green in them with a thick medium-dark gray rim around the iris. I'd like to use eye shadow/liner colors to bring out the green and gray in my eyes. I'm a cool-toned, light-skinned gal with medium brown & silver hair. My eyes are kind of deep-set and hooded, my eyelids are starting to get crepey, and I wear glasses, so I don't do very complicated eye looks -- the max I might do is a lid wash, brow bone highlighter, and liner or crease color. For most days 2 colors tops, one more often. I'm still learning how to do liner well. Any suggestions? I love violet colors, but purples with too much red in them tend to make me look red-eyed. I don't think blue eye shadow does anything good for me, and most browns look really bland and blah on me. I have Taffeta and like it, ordered Satin to go with it. The colors of the SN eye shadows are gorgeous!

I'm in that boat. I do a lot of outer-v shades and have actually just started moving my crease colors up slightly onto the actual brow bone (where the lid meets the bone) inside of inside the crease. It opens up my eyes more and the shadows created are more flattering. As for crepey, I can't help because I'm 24, but eventually I'm sure I'll have to get creative along with the rest of the gals.

I'm still learning how to do liner well. Any suggestions?

I waterline-usually with powder, which means the I touch the brush to the skin inside the lashes close to the eyeball. Sometimes I use a white liner pencil (by itself to brighten the eye or as a primer for powder to stick to). I find angled liner brushes to work best for me. If lining above the lashes on the lid, i usually only line from the outer corner to the center of the pupil, making a backdrop for my mascara to look fuller.

If you're one who *can't* wear purple (like me) go for a more pastel purple. The look I have below uses gasp, iris and aubergine. (it also has lilac, but that's a dc'ed color). I have warm skin and blue veins under the skin at my temples so I don't usually wear blues or most purples. I have to really try to make those colors work. Like I said, pastels are easier to play with for those colors. I was also offered the tip to use really dark or black liner with shadows that don't normally work for me.

I don't try to bring out any colors in my eyes, but my eyes change color between green and grey. You're welcome to check out my swatch thread or blog pictures (sapphiresandstilettos.blogspot.com). I wear a lot of orange/peach/copper shadows. It seems redudant, but green shadow is what pops the green in my eyes. I don't wear a lot of purple, but it does play up the grey/green dynamic.
