Is there a more opaque version of Ambrosia?

Post by awolos » Fri Mar 18, 2011 11:36 pm

I just got ambrosia, and I love the color on my golden toned skin! I'm looking for something similar but more opaque, there aren't many good swatches of the corals lippies together! Thanks so much ;)

no not really. However, mirage and XXX tend to make nice opaque bases for peaches. I like mirage mixed with peachy keen or mango. Mirage does have a little pink in it even though those lippies are decidedly more orange/peach than coral. Gives that nice milky effect I like in a peach lippie

I'd love to see more opaque version of Ambrosia as well, even a bit paler - milkier. Ambrosia is one of my faves anyway.

I'd like to request an opaque version of Ambrosia as well. The thing is I haven't even tried Ambrosia yet, but I already know it will be too sheer. And lip concealers/primers and nude lip bases accentuate my wrinkly lips. I'm still on the search for a milky coral/melon lip color. Ambrosia seems like it's in the realm of what I'm looking for (although it's looks more on the pink side). Thanks for creating this lovely shade..I hope you will continue with more milky colors similar to some of Paul & Joe lip gloss colors or muted versions of OCC Lip Tar or some drugstore Japanese lip glosses.

Ou should check Jennifae's blog. She recently just did a side-by-side swatch of all SN peaches and corals she happens to have. It's a very nice one and you can pretty much determine what you want from there. The link http://jennifae.blogspot.com/2011/05/sw ... h-and.html

For the time being, I think you can try Ingenue. It's a really nice coral shade, although in some lighting it sort of pulls the pink out more. But it's a real nice coral, pretty much like the color of the box of Estee Lauder Pure Linen Pink Coral. It might not be as milky as Ambrosia but pretty much in the same color family.

Ingenue layered under Ambrosia is really lovely. It can pull pink, but you may like it! Ambrosia is my HG -don't know what I did without it!

Could Ingenue be the dupe of NARS Niagara? No? I'm just sayin'. :D

In my cart Ambrosia goes!! How different are Ambrosia and Foreplay? For some reason I never tried Foreplay, it looks like a nice summery color.

I think the biggest difference is their finish: Ambrosia is liquid and no shimmer, wile Foreplay is pretty shimmery (not frosty, mind you) and solid. While Foreplay barely shows up on my pigmented lips, so I use it mostly as a topper to warm up other colors, Ambrosia can stand on its own with more opacity.

Thanks. Ambrosia sounds like the better choice for my pigmented lips.
