Velvet Love (A SN Brush Story)

So, before my conversion three years ago to mineral makeup, I had been a hardcore lover of all things expensive in cosmetics. That included my expensive collection of makeup brushes I had purchased from Prescriptives. So I was loathe to replace something that I had invested a lot of money. I thought, "Yeah, sure- that flat top brush is SO much better than the one I had paid $50+ for seven years ago...."
I had purchased the Large Fiber Optic Brush for using with my priming and finishing powder. I liked that well enough.
Still, though- I dragged my feet. But this time I wanted to make a large order as I inevitably do at least once a year. So I added brushes, the Ultimate Long Handle Flat Top, and the Fiber Optic Blush Brush in addition to my makeup and skin care goodies.
I got my beautiful order yesterday afternoon- eagerly grabbed it before heading to work. I looked at the flat top brush. Probably half the size or less of my Prescriptives Buff Brush. I thought, "Sure, I'm gonna make my face up in a hurry with that little thing!" I touched the bristles. Velvety soft. OK, I concede that. MUCH softer than my Buff Brush. In fact, it makes that like sandpaper in comparison. But I was still skeptical. Nevertheless, I took them home and placed them in my pen holder that I use to stand brushes in.
Finally this morning arrived. I did my usual skin care and then applied my Zinc/Luxury primer mix with the Fiber Optic Brush. Then I took out the foundation and the new flat top brush. I was in absolute awe. Not only did it take less time to get coverage, it also took less product, too. The finish was unparalleled. I also felt as though it had been much easier on my skin. I have rosacea, and I'm thinking my old overpriced Rx Buff Brush couldn't have done my rosacea skin any favors. Using SN skin care products have improved my skin, but I'm thinking the softer brushes will reduce irritation even further.
I don't have as much to say about the Fiber Optic Blush Brush. I DO like that I can use the deeper colors without premixing with PP to tone them down. I also like the fact that it's small and I can drop it in my work bag and fix any blush errors in the light at work.
So, to make a very long story short- an ignorant brush snob is converted, and will be telling her boss (who had observed and admired my complexion and makeup and then purchased SN for his wife and daughter) that his wife should at the very least purchase the flat top brush.
A SN customer for life....
