I'm wanting Dame, and hesitating, because I like the color, but historically, goldish shimmer doesn't really look good on me for some reason. I loved Promise until I realized it looked a bit off somehow. How much is in there? What other lippies can you compare to color and gold shine wise?

I was wondering the same thing. Also about sugar. Did you see Sam and Jennifae's swatches? They help out, but I am still having a hard telling how much shimmer there is.

I think you're going to need to try Dame, Andi. I just got home to receive my parcel and tried Dame on because I'd read this post from you this morning and was curious about Dame, too.

It's an odd reaction from me on this one... initially, I thought "hey this kisser slicker is a bit thick" because it applies fairly sheer and shiny, I'd forgotten that it's the richer, creamier butter cream formula. I've got fairly dry lips and as I applied the lippy looking at it close up in the hand mirror, it looked a bit peculiar. On one hand, it was a butter cream and felt familiarly luxurious but on the other hand, it looks far less opaque and gives a veil of colour like a kisser slicker. The gold shimmer is a very fine pearl, by no means what I'd associate with a gold shimmer (I'm thinking it's a long way from "Gleaming" for example). Shimmer in lippy is a no-no for me, too. This is unusual. Up close, I'm thinking "what's going on here, what's it supposed to be?" but when I pulled the mirror back so that I could see my whole face, I actually said out loud "ahh" in surprise. It looks very good. It makes my scrawny lips look full and glossy (like a traditional gloss) probably thanks to the 'gold shimmer' but it has the definition of a lightweight lipstick. The colour is glorious, too. The overall effect is unique and could not be a better answer for someone like me who'd love to wear lipstick but has too thin lips to look good in a deeper colour and who isn't up for the high maintenance a (noticeable) lippy requires. This is perfect (now that I've figured out what it's supposed to be).

Yeah, although I'd say it comes out a bit darker, like Figment perhaps. Not quite the same colour but it has more depth than Infatuation. Sam's picture is great but there's also that extra dimension to Dame, as with some of the eyeshadows, that the play of light isn't quite captured on camera. Dame's got that little something extra about it, good for subtly pulling attention to a devastatingly pretty (or seductive) smile without the drama of a full red lippy.
