Does this sound like an ok routine for my skin type?

Hey everyone,

I just stumbled across the Silk Naturals site a few days ago, and I've been back numerous times already just checking everything out and creating a list for what I want to order first! I'm very excited to place an order and try all the things that are tempting me here.

Anyways, I'm on another forum and they rave about Silk Natural's skin care, so that's what I have come to ask about today. You see I have some pretty significant scarring from old acne breakouts, and while my skin is definitely under control these days, there are still times that I'll get a spot or two (you ladies can probably guess what time of the month that is!) So ya, my skin texture is weird and bumpy and I would just love nothing more than to have soft and even looking skin. I was trying to figure out what would be best for my skin type (combo and slightly sensitive) and this is the products that I've decided I want to try:

Apricot Cleansing Oil
Rose Hydrating Serum
Vit C Serum
and possibly the Aloe and Green Tea Serum

I also have a few questions. If my skin is on the combo side, do you think these serums may be enough on their own without having to use a moisturizer too? If not I was thinking of trying the Raspberry Moisturizer instead of one of the serums, but I'm not sure it's right for my skin type.

Also, do you think any of these will help my skin texture. I've seen the Super Serum and been tempted by that too, but in all honesty, I can see my more sensitive skin having issues with it.

Thanks for any and all help! :)

All of the things you have chosen look good. You may want to consider adding in the AHA Toner at some point. You do need to add things in slowly. Not sure you would need both the Rose and Green Tea & Aloe Serums.

As far as moisturizer.....some can get by with only a serum, but they are generally people with oilyish skin and in humid climates. The serums are all water based and you need something to seal them in to some degree. You can always try it, but I would be surprised if it would work without a moisturizer, especially in the colder months if it is winter where you are. Would you consider the Firming Moisturizer? (edited to add...I just saw that you are 24...perhaps a bit too early for Firming Moisturizer....)

Hey Jen,

Thanks for the quick reply. I was actually looking at the lactic toner...I keep hearing good things about lactic acid for skin texture. In terms of the serums possibly not being enough, would you say that the raspberry moisturizer would be ok for someone with slightly acne prone/combo skin. I know everything is "ymmv", but I only know certain natural ingredients my skin can't handle (like olive oil) and the rest I have no idea about. I keep reading all your posts and you sound so incredibly knowledgable about SIlk Naturals products so if I can ask a general question, what products would you suggest to help with skin texture and scarring?

And yep, I will make sure to add things in slowly...one at a time!

Thanks!

Raspberry is a good choice of moisturizer to try. It has more of an earthy scent, rather than fruity, because it is made from raspberry oil. Another good choice would be Hemp. Yes, there is quite a bit of variation from person to person in reguard to what will work best.

For skin texture and reducing the appearance of scarring, both the Vitamin C Peptide and Super Serum are the best choices. The Vitimin C Peptide is what I would recommend for your sensitive skin. If you do well with it, you might want to try the Super Serum at a later time. I don't know about you, but I notice that my skin is generally more sensitive in the winter when it is drier. I can usually use Super Serum without issue in the warmer months, but have to be a bit cautious with it when my skin is stressed from the weather.
