Eye Shadow Recomendations

I've been using SN for a few months now, and am looking for some eye shadow recommendations for the fall. I've been using a combination of Bare and Boom through the summer, but now that what little tan I get has faded they just haven't been working as well for me. I think I need a bit more color in the winter.

I'm extremely fair (warm ivory in about an 11/12 to 1 ration) with hazel/green eyes and reddish blonde hair. I'd love something that would make my eyes greener. Usually burgandy and pink tones make them look pretty green. My problem with make up is that my coloring makes it hard to find the right balance of colors. I desperately need to add some color to keep me from looking like a ghost, but it's a fine line before things look "clownish" on me. My coloring is a fairly neutral pasty white leaning a bit towards warmer tones.

The picture was taken over the summer, so I'm a bit paler now. Any help would be great! I'm horrible at picking out colors for myself.

Welcome to SN- your description of your skin tone made DH and I LOL

How about some copper, or gold to match your hair, and play up the green a bit? Luxe, or Legend- or maybe something like Fire and Brimstone??

My family gets a kick out of teasing me about my skin tone all the time. :D I give new meaning to the term "white". More than once at an interactive historical site in Newport, RI, the docent was telling us about how the ladies like to partake in some arsenic to keep their complexions milky white. Everytime I go there they turn to me and comment on how good it is that I already took mine. :) I complain, but I've come to really like my skin tone for the most part. Luckily though my face is actually a bit darker than the rest of me.

Thanks for the suggestions. I can't wait to try some new looks!

Hi Elpinoine.
As a very fair, slightly yellow toned person myself....you don't look that white to me! My haircolor is sort of like yours....but more highlighted blonde and red over brown, and my eyes are hazel. Karen's suggestions are a great start, but I have a few suggestions also. Some of the morphing colors.....Quiver, Pop, and Groove, are yummy with hazel eyes.
Earth is a lovely neutral. I haven't tried them yet, I hear that all the *Colors for a Cure* are universally flattering.....and I can see them looking really lovely on you.
HTH,
Laurie

If you struggle with washes of colour, using a pale base like Vanilla or Boom as a wash then using a dry angled liner brush to just press a little colour along the lash lines works beautifully to give you something different without looking clowny! My faves to bring out the green in my eyes are Aubergine, Cruise, Plush and Brown Sugar. I'm very dark haired though but I think Plush and Brown Sugar would be fine for anyone.

Also if a colour looks a little too much when you lose your tan, just applying it to the lid then using something like Vanilla or Bone as a highlighter blended into it can make it work when you're paler.

I think as one colour washes go Earth's always a winner, there's lots of things going on in that one that really brings out green in eyes, especially if you line with Sapphire or Cruise. Bailey from the new collection hasn't been off my face since it arrived I love it! OOOO and Mojave, how could I forget! Now Mojave would really work for you I'm sure its so subtle, like a nude pink that is the beeeest with green eyes :D HTH!!!

I'm light warm blonde with green/hazel eyes and I struggle to make them greeener. I realy like Cherry Blossom. I was scared when I saw it in a jar - but it is great on the inner half of the lid or inner corner. It is very light color, but pinks in it make green eyes pop. It goes great with pinks, purples, cranberries and even peaches and colors like Luxe.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm looking forward to putting my next order together. The picture I posted was from a 4th of July picnic, so I do have a bit more color there. It's just about gone now, and I'm nearly back to my natural self. A little bit of it is hanging in there thanks to a few outdoor festivals this fall. :)

I just placed my order tonight. I ordered a bunch of different shadows, and a few blush samples for good measures. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I would love to hear what you ordered. I am on a no buy at the moment so I like to hear about other peoples orders. I have managed to go a month and a half. I think the Christmas collection will push me over the edge. :D
