It could just be my tube but Autumn Ember seems a little bit harder, with more matteness (i guess? it's not glossy) and less slip when I put it on than other Kisser Slickers.
Is this just because it's more pigmented? It's not uncomfortable or hard to wear, it just seems different. Even the lipsticks are smoother in consistency, and apply a little glossy.
anyone else have it to compare? It doesn't dry out my lips or anything but doesn't give the same kind of moisture that my Mimosa does.

No, it's not just your tube, mine is like that, too. Actually, I kind of like it that way. I love that it is so pigmented, and I love the color. I also love that it seems to last a lot longer on my lips than all the other kisser slickers, To me is seems much more like a lipstick.

I've been wearing it the past few days and I'm starting to really like it as well. It's such a sophisticated color!
I have found, though, that if I put some of my devil's food cake lipgloss on first then it slips on much easier.

I like it with Nectar either underneath it or layered on top.

My tube is like that as well. I find it closer to the buttercream consistency than the kisser slickers, & honestly thought when I first tried it on that it WAS a buttercream! Interesting that it's so different, though, I thought it might just be my tube.

There is quite a bit of pigment in Autumn Ember. IThe mount of pigment does effect the hardness of the end product. Mine is also more like lipstick consistency, but I love it!

It is because of the pigment. It's one of those tricky things...pigment makes formulas more firm, and creamier. The Kisser Slicker base was made to accept light to moderate pigmentation- where the vegan base was tested to accept tons of pigment so that it could be a true lipstick. With Autumn Ember I started with the KS base just because, but then I kept adding pigment, and it turned out a little thicker than usual.
