Anyone wear, love, have swatches, pictures, etc....of Chamois?? Trying to figure out if it would go muddy on my skin. I have yellow/peach undertones and Buttercup almost disappears on my eyelids. I'm not normally a fan of mattes at all, but I'm looking for that camel yellow/brown color!

My skin is basically really pale and kind of yellow - you can see in my avatar.

Chamois looked muddy on me. Buttercup didn't, but I wouldn't say it looked quite right, either. It was kind of a nouveau-70's-retro thing.

I think that I would describe Chamois as a bit browner and darker than Buttercup, but quite similar in effect. It's what I would describe as a mustard yellow, the color of dijon mustard, whereas Buttercup to me was like a canary covered in baking soda....but not in a bad way.

At times like these, I wish there were ES samples on sale
I've been looking at some matte shades on SN, but I'm afraid they might look "muddy" on me too. Shimmer/ satin finishes are more forgiving in that aspect.

Chamois is a golden, browned yellow kind of the color of real chamois. I am trying to think of another comparable....

If you did decide it was a little too dark, you could add in some white foundation base to lighten it. If you thought the texture was too heavy, you could use the Ultra Sheer Zinc to thin it out a little.

Out of curiosity, do you wear any brown e/s well? It's rare a brown e/s looks nice on my face without making me look tired. Mustard yellow is a hard color for me... I do yellow well, but not the mustardy brown muddy yellow kind. For lack of a better explanation, I need spring yellows (pure, clear yellows) instead of autumn yellows (muted yellows with brown). Buttercup seems to me a yellow lightened with white or ivory, so it still works for my skin.

I'm hunting a camel brown with a clear yellow base, as opposed to the camel brown with a more muted yellow base... Wish I could find a picture to illustrate the difference!

Thanks Jen! Sounds like an interesting color, probably won't be exactly what I'm looking for, but would be interesting to try! I may have to put it on my "freebie" e/s list for the next time I place an order big enough!

Aud- The matte e/s are tricky for me. I don't really do mattes well... But, they are very lovely colors! I'd say post a list of your favorite SN e/s and maybe someone can suggest a few of the matte colors that seem to fit into your favorite color range? FWIW, I love Tiger Lily!

I'm not sure what to recommend based on the description you give. I can wear copper browns (Vogue, Dolce) and some neutral-pink browns. Chocolate colors are wearable but not exciting on my skin. I have trouble with anything in the orange range.

For example, Chic and Tailfeather looked dull and grey on me; Aztec and Chamois looked muddy; Eu-Taupe-Ia and Honey made me look a little feverish. Of those, I think Honey is the most yellow, and though I wouldn't describe it as camel, exactly, it's not as muted as the yellow in Chamois. I found Honey to be more wearable than Chamois for my skin.
