A tiny new collection!

I apologize for sneaking up on you with this collection. I *wasn't* 100% sure I could pull it off in time, but it finally came together! The new liquid glosses are packaged in slightly larger tubes, they're longer and a bit skinnier- about the same size as the slimline tubes. The balms are packaged in clear tubes, and the Butter Creams are packaged in our standard black slimline tubes. There's something else, but I can't remember it off the top of my head...I'm sure I'll be back to update you soon!

From my blog:
I've just added a teeny tiny new collection of lippies to the site. It's a warm-up, an appetizer, an "amuse bouche" if you will. DH and I are leaving for vacation on Monday- and I debated a lot about releasing a new collection before we left- generally vacations bring out a ton of new ideas BUT because of the timing of our vacation it felt like Summer would be half over by the time I got back and had a new collection to put out.

So, the compromise is a small collection followed up by another one sometime around the beginning of August. Today we're releasing some new Butter Creams, new Liquid Glosses, and 3 new balms. From now until I come back from vacation (July 7th) we'll be donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Butter Creams & new Liquid Glosses to the National Wildlife Federation to assist with the Gulf Coast cleanup.

The new liquid glosses are slick, pigmented and 100% natural. There isn't a single bit of petroleum in it and frankly, I don't think it needs it. Every once in a while we get asked to add some good old fashioned Vaseline or mineral oil to some products, and I just can't bring myself to do it. EWG rates most of the mineral oil derivites like Hydrogenated Polyisobutene as "harmless" but I can't look at what's going on in the Gulf and think that it's harmless. I think it's going in the wrong direction, and the technology is advancing so quickly that I'm hoping petroluem products become obsolete- sooner rather than later.

In honor of the 4th of July we'll also be donating lip balms to the troops through Soldier's Angels. For every 4 balms we sell we'll donate a tube of balm to soldiers who are currently serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

And we're having a contest! It's design your dream collection contest, and it's going on in our forum right now. We're keeping it open until Saturday, and then we'll setup a poll on the forum so you can vote for your favorite collection. I'll make the winning entry- and if yours is chosen you get all of the products for free!

Once again I'd like to thank you for your support- I'm hoping we can make this a great summer!!!!!

I love you, Karen! Lavender lippie is going straight in the cart!

By the way, are Wisteria those amazing smelling lilac flowers?

Where I live wisteria (corrected to) weigela is a flowering bush. I have three varieties. One is green leaves with fuschia flowers. One has a green and ivory leaf with light and medium pink flowers. The other has wine colored leaves with warm red flowers.

ETA: I am completely wrong...it is a flowering vine like Sam posted. I am thinking Weigela.

Mine is a vine (looks great on arbors) with similar foliage to that of a locust tree (clusters of little bonnet shaped flowers and olive branch looking leaves). The flowers come in purple, white, and i think pink too. They smell delightful.

Does the summer fruit one have any actual strawberry in it? I would love that one, but I am allergic to strawberries.

@Hoyden- I'm not sure about the strawberry flavor. I know that it's not 100% natural, but flavor chemists almost never reveal the actual components of the things they make. I know there are some synthetic components that mimic the scents of berries, but I don't know if they've used them in this formula. It drives us all crazy, and the truly crazy part is that a good "nose" can figure it all out pretty quickly- especially with the gear that they have in most fragrance labs.

@Sam- that's a gorgeous picture! Don't feel too bad about your TV- Bitsy stole mine too, and then when I had them all on my hand to swatch Suzie decided to try to lick them off. I think Bitsy would eat a balm a day if she could get her little paws on them.

Thanks Karen, I think I may order it and patch test it to find out. If I can't use it, I'll put it into my stash of make-up for donation.

BTW - I love that you are donating lip balms to the troops through Soldier's Angels. The Military is near & dear to my heart as I am a Military Brat. My father served 27.5 years in the US Navy before retiring. I recently donated a Clarisonic Mia that I won to a War Veteran I met at the VA Hospital while doing therapy dog visits. I included a bunch of goodies in a gift bag for her. She loved the under eye concealer & the cherry lip gloss. She has this thing for cherries :)

Here are links to my blog post about the donations I've been doing. I've included Silk Naturals products quite often :)

ETA: Birdie would eat a balm a day too if I let her. I've found lip balms & lippies stashed in her dog bed. The brat.

Will these be around for a few more months? I am still on this self-imposed makeup diet and am "not allowed" to purchase until I use up what I have.

I think it's awesome that you are sending lip balms to the troops BTW.
