Lippies in same formula as Swept Away

Post by Oxana124 » Fri May 28, 2010 10:47 am

I got Swept Away (d/c lippie) in a swap a while back and finally got the chance to wear it yesterday, and oh my is it amazing! The color is lovely, a nice pink that is just slightly bright but not over the top (it is not as bright as something like Fearless or Capricious for example, but I do love those colors also). It has great pigmentation, pretty much as opaque as a lipstick, so the color shows up really well which I love since my lips like to morph colors that are more on the sheer side. (Maybe it is like the SN lipsticks, I'm not sure, I only have XXX since all the others are too dark for me). Further, Swept Away lasted soooo long on me. I went swimming in a pool and it didn't budge, then I went out to dinner and actually ended up blotting it because I didn't want to end up eating it, lol, but even so it left a pinkish stain on my lips :) Despite being lipstick-like, the formula was still very moisturizing and felt awesome on my lips the whole time.
I would love to see lippies in the same formula as Swept Away and perhaps some similar colors as well :)

They were called demi-glosses, a cross between a gloss and a lipstick. I'm not really sure why karen did away with them other than to make room for the vegan glosses. Divine was my favorite- it was replaced by mirage but i still prefer divine.

There was quite a number of colours available in that formula but it was discontinued a good year or so ago. Since then, Karen has created the vegan line (by popular demand) and part of that included a new vegan formula of lipstick.

I think I have a couple from that line, is Capricious part of it? There's just something about Swept Away that feels different though, it just feels so comfy on my lips.
The vegan lipsticks just don't have as fun of colors, they are all too dark except for XXX. And when I wore XXX it just didn't feel that comfy, like a slight burning sensation (maybe I'm allergic to one of the ingredients?). When I tried Swept Away, I was just so impressed with everything about it. I wonder if Karen still has the recipe?

There were 13 of them:

I'm sure Karen would have recipes (she had to be able to replicate it for sale at the time). The only things i think she doesn't have recipes on is the GWP colors, because they aren't meant to be replicated so when we ask for them, she has to clone herself.

I really like that formula too and really miss some of the colors. I am coveting my lat little bit of Amour :(
